for someone not wanting this to turn into a debate... i'm sorry, but that was a pretty schitty comment. just wish that family, friends, or whomever (whoever?) would be more forceful in attempting to help at the very slightest hint that suicide would cross the person's mind. help helping themselves is what's needed. there's two ways that this can be interpreted. hopefully not the one insinuating that he/she was some sort of psychopath.
In 2001, there were nearly 1,900 suicides in the United States by people aged 10 to 19. I believe there's roughly 30,000 or so total suicides per year in the United States.
sad stuff... a few years back the husband of a good friend of mine killed himself. they had been married for like 8 years or so and had to 2 girls. i think like 4 and 9 at the time. their marriage wasn't great or anything...pretty rocky but they still loved each other. she went out one night to go drink at a bar near the house and when she came home she found him hanging in the bathroom. no note...no nothing. she only said he was asking her to stay home that night, but she didn't think anything of it. i know we go thru some **** in life, but this guy was around 30 years old and left behind 2 great daughters. sad story...but she has moved on now and is doing good.
OmegaSupreme It's just my opinion...everyone has one...and never will everyone agree on a same topic...so i just gave my two cents. The United States has the highest suicide rate.
I went to see the scene right after it happened. Turned out to be a homeless guy, not a UT student. He went into the laundry room on the top floor and broke the window using a chair.
