Camby for battier would do wonders for this team. Putting shane on the bench would also do wonders

There's a big problem with this analysis.

Not only does it not account for opposition, but it doesn't account for stages of the game or match-ups

For example, Chase doesn't play a lot of 1st qtr minutes.

Or who might be in more in certain situations - battier is always guarding the toughest guy - so naturally it will hurt his plus / minus as compared to when that guy takes a break and a guy off our bench goes against another bench guy.

Also doesn't take in consideration close games vs. not so close - like garbage time.

All of this make this stat very tricky in my opinion. Because it's just not an apples to apples comparison.

I'd be careful of sizing up battier as being a negative force and overestimating chase as a positive one for instance.

Right now, Battier brings more to the table than Chase.

I made note of the difference in opposition faced in the first post. Its also worth noting that Battier's +/- is by far the worst, even amongst starters. Is he facing dramatically tougher lineups than everyone else? Is Adelman less willing to take him off the floor when the Rockets are doing poorly? Maybe.

The Rockets haven't had too much garbage time in the last 10 games. Not enough to drastically sway these stats, I don't think.

    a lot of gt tonight!

I don't think a 10 game span is enough time to measure people either. I think over a season, things can average out more and there might be some insights in there, but not over a 10 game span.

I like battier for pryzbilla, younger bigger and is a better post defender, he would be a perfect back up for yao.

If Chuck was 6-10 and had a midrange jumpshot he would be the GOAT.

I understand. I wasn't try to draw strong conclusions here, so much as just making observations on what has happened of late. Hopefully certain aspects will improve as the season goes along.
