Hakeem played soccer growing up, and ended up a HOFer. Therefore, all Hill needs is to learn some soccer and he should be well on his way. Your logic is impeccable. There are exceptions to every rule. Just because Hakeem did it does not mean others can so easily, especially when he was fluid and agile from day 1. Hill on the other hand looks like a bull in china shop. While I get the point you are trying to make, it is really still no excuse to compare the two in ANY capacity. Even mentioning the two in the same sentence is truly offensive, and a disgrace to the team, the city, and your's truely(and whoever else that just read that)'s intelligence. His career has about a 1,000,000% better chance at coming much closer to the likes of Mikki Moore, Stromile Swift, Chris Wilcox. The fact that you, of all people, disagree with me- you have no idea how much that comforts me on my stance, as well as confirms and reinforces me on my position.
LOL - I only made the point that there are cases of some guys that come late to the game succeeding, and in Hakeem's case succeeding beyond anyone's wildest dreams. I did not say they were comparible, or that Hill will end up like him, but to make an assumption out of where Hill will be when he has played less than what 60 NBA games, is just flat out mind numbingly stupid. Hill may indeed turn into a bust, but if you take of the hateraides you wear around your eyes, you would see a lot of improvement even over last year, the guy has made enormous strides. Does that mean he is a finished product, LOL...no, of course not, it means that he is working on his game and has improved, and therefore probably will get even better. Instead of myopically focusing on one guy who is improving, playing out of position, and slamming all your - what did you call it - lack of agenda-ism on him (WTF ever), maybe you should try to understand the dynamics of the team and what is going on with the Rockets right now. I doubt you have that capacity though, judging by the severe lack of basketball knowledge in any of your posts. Yes, people that can not comprehend the game or ideas conveyed always look to slam those in the know. I will take that as a compliment, whether intended or not. Good day to you and your Agenda hating Hill butt ! DD
Poor Jordan Hill - I hope he's taken out some insurance policies, cause the last Rocket big man to get the "Hakeem" treatment from DD was Malick Badiane - who was last seen getting cut from the french league in 2008. http://bbs.clutchfans.com/search.php?searchid=193712
Come on now, for us to write off Jordan Hill for Malick Badiane this early, after 90 NBA games actually for those of us who can count, we are clearly either "mind numbingly stupid", have a "sever lack of basketball knowledge", or obviously "cannot comprehend the game". Which is kind of funny coming from a guy who wrote off Demarcus Cousins for Oliver Miller after, what was it, oh, 0 NBA games. And I'M the one with the agenda. LOL.
I've said this many times and I will stay consistent with this in regards to hill and a guy like thabeet. These guys with late starts/limited experience need playing time and lots of it. A guy like chase, not so much because of the countless schools, academies, shooting camps, and so forth that he was afforded to attend coming up. The problem is of course the rockets have a guy like scola starting and the rockets are trying to make the playoffs. Thats why I say you cant compete and rebuild at the same time. Young guys really need to play to get used to game situations in real time. In regard to upside, its there because he's immature in terms of playing experience. I dont think he's going to be amare or someone like that, but i think he can be as good as a guy like Nene or maybe even dale davis/antonio davis. Those guys had their best years closer to 30 than 20. I would really prefer both he and patterson to go to the d-league and just play. To me, he's still a rookie. I would have a better grasp on his finish if he was playing mid 20's in terms of minutes.
