here is some more perspective. we only played 2 games without Yao. one was an emotional, hot start blow out win.. the other, was an utter domination, cant shoot for anything, super small sized team loss. we are 1-1 without Yao...T-mac doesn't count. He shouldn't count especially to all those people that don't like him. It's good that we had the opportunity to see how good the team can be, but lets chill from this headline now...it's so overplayed.
I bet T-Mac comes back earlier than expected and shows he still got some game. Enough game for somebody to looking for cap releif to trade for at the deadline next year
I'm surprised you're so willing to write off what those guys did just to prove a point. I'm still proud of them. That being said, I'll take this season over that one.
Once Yao went down, I just told myself: Enjoy this series -- any win from here on out is just gravy on top of your first round success. It makes watching these games a ton less stressful. I don't worry about losing because, well, we should be losing -- but if we win, it's amazing. Houston Rockets: Where amazing happens. (how corny of me)
Well said. I understand what the op is tryng to say, but none of those players mentioned are injury prone. KG has just started missing games. Dirk, lebron, kobe, and howard never miss games. Duncan has played so many game and so many minutes, he was bound to miss time. With tracy and yao, its not a matter of if, but when and how long. Normally the team that wins the title has the least games lost by their all star talents. I'm just really ready to start over.
My point in the thread was to realize that if we had Tracy, Yao and Deke and were playing any of those teams without their counterparts, we'd be pulling our hair out if we ever lost a game. Well the shoe is on the other foot and to win any of these games is a pretty significant feat. That's the uphill climb this current, depleted Rocket squad faces in these playoffs. This team has won long-term with both Yao and McGrady but is untested without both for a longer stretch. Our roster is crippled; our rotation is screwed. The headline is not overplayed because the game starts in a few hours and the situation remains the same.
