You can sign up again. I was already getting rockets email but signed up anyways. The guy at the table said that you can sign up as many times as you want, he does not care :p

You get an all red t-shirt with a Rockets logo on the front and Rockets Insider on the back. I only saw one of these tables and it was on the lower level near the escalator. When I got there the line was not that long but by the time I got the shirt it was very long.

You can always use some email address that you may have setup for spam or just a fake

I saw some highlights from the non-espn cameras, where you could really see the crowd, and we were way more impressive on tv, than it was in person . If the TC lighting wasn't so dim, and you could see the upper level on TV, we would be the most impressive crowd in the NBA. I expect tommorow with the shirts we should be even better.

Is it true that the games are STILL not being sold out at TC???

Is it true that the games are STILL not being sold out at TC???

I know the crowd/attendance topic has been brought up before, but I thought it might be worth discussing if this is really the case for the freakin playoffs...

I live in Dallas and haven't yet been able to go to a game, so I don't know from first-hand experience, but I have friends in Houston who went to these games and said that tickets were still readily available at the door when the game started, and that there were a noticeable amount of empty seats in the upper level.

Looking at the attendance numbers for the first two games, it's ~18,200 for both, and I think TC has a capacity of about 19K...

... Can this POSSIBLY be normal??? If it is, I need a major reality check. I mean, we have what is widely recognized as at least the 4th or 5th best team in the NBA going into the playoffs, and also in the 4th biggest city, and we STILL can't fill an arena for the effing playoffs against a team that we should all hate? This after all the efforts to bring more energy and entertainment to the arena with the Red Rowdies, too???

I don't mean to sound like an ass to any Houston residents who are diehards (I know we have some GREAT and loyal fans... some of the best in the entire NBA), but the overall support from that city really dissappoints me... I knew we had a lot of bandwagoners, but I thought they at least started showing up for the playoffs in full force... I remember having some awesome crowds back in the mid 90s up until the big three fell apart.

As much as I hate Utah, if there's one thing I wish we could emulate even just a little, it's their unbelievable fan loyalty and participation. Maybe watching their hostile crowd will motivate some of our fans again, heh.

This is like the 5th Toyota Center/Fans thread.

Did you not watch the game last night? the place was a sea of RED and PACKED.

I think it's just the TV angle. You don't see the true fans on the left.(Rowdies)

But for the season you might have a point. A lot of the games against bad teams are empty.

I think numbers will be up next year though. Something has to be done about those corporate assholes who take up club seats also.

Both games were sold out. 18200 is about a sell-out. Official capacity is 18,300, but sometimes they can't sell as much because TNT and other things take up room that would otherwise go to seats (from what I've heard). Your 19000 figure is a bit much.

Hmmm... I only saw one other thread related to the TC crowd, and that was a more specific complaint. I figured a thread for more general whining was needed.

Anyways, if the freakin playoff crowd is actually still even a little bit weak, it needs as much attention as possible IMO.

And yes, I've been watching the games. Every game this season. I love the red theme, and the crowd is also obviously much more involved than they were during the regular season, but still... how can you not sell out a damn PLAYOFF game after a 52-win season in a city the size of Houston when freaking Sacramento sells out arenas in a regular season game when they're having a .300 season.

Maybe you're sick of the complaints about the crowds, but it really bothers me... I know I can't be alone, either. VENT!

Above post was directed to WMJ.

rua, are you sure they sold out? I didn't think it made sense that they wouldn't at least sell out, even if participation could still use some work. But I was ****in peeved when I heard there were still tickets available after the game started.

The game was a sell-out... Calm down.

There's nothing worse than someone complaining about people not showing up to games, when they don't show up to games. I don't care if you live in Dallas or Timbuktu. Either show up yourself, or stop complaining.

    Thank you.

Dude you are wrong and the thread starter is right. There were still a lot of vacant seats down low plus the suites are filled to about 10%. You can tell by the third quarter there was till possibly more than 150 shirts still sitting on empty chairs through out TC.

I knew people were gonna get all sensitive about this... I don't know why people take it so personal if the topic doesn't even apply to them. You're probably not one of the fans I'm talking about... but you're fooling yourself if you think that the arena participation is anywhere near as good as it could be.

I support the Rockets in just about every way imaginable outside of going to games... and I still go to a game every single opportunity I get.

Now please stop with the damage control. Either discuss the topic at hand, or leave. Don't waste your time looking to insult me.

At least on tv I noticed in the background there were quite a few empty seats in the lower bowl. Maybe they were bought and people didn't show?

That's probably the case... but it's still pretty annoying that they wouldn't show up.

    I'm not fooling anyone.

These threads are stupid, pointless, repetitive and, most of all, hypocritical...because they are always started by someone who was NOT at the game in question.

"On tv it looked like there were some empty seats...."
"Fans still didn't seem loud enough..."

    Wa, wa, wa.

Man-up, by a ticket, drive to Houston, go to the game, and institute change yourself. Then go home and complain if you want. Complaining from your coach is your perogative, but shouldn't be trusted.

I mean, there is actually a thread giving props to the fans, started by a fan....who WENT to the games.

Otherwise, for the love of all that is right in the world, stop with the fan bashing.

    Rant over! ;)

Please go cry somewhere else, Jayz.

You have nothing to contribute here.

    TC Crowd

I dont get why the people that can afford lower level tickets refuse to wear a free red shirt to support the team? What is the point of going to the game if you are not going to support the team as mucha s you can.

I seriously hope that mangement tries to enforce them to participate/wear the shirts. Miami, Toronto, and other arenas all have fans that are willing to do atleast that, why cant ours?

Yeah you paid for your ticket but if you dont want to help support the team then get your refund back and move some fans willing to support the team the best that they can down to the lower bowl.

I guess the games sold out at gametime then... but apparently still not everyone with tickets showed up.
