Not really, since it's a rebuttal of the things FBB said about liberals. Basso, you should thank rimrocker. This will go down as perhaps the biggest smackdown in recent D&D memory, and you ought to feel grateful that you weren't on the receiving end as usual.
Right... Personal insults and petty name calling about maturity = hypocrisy in its truest definition.
Hilarious. Also, what percentage of rimrockers posts are about himself? Maybe .01%? I hardly think his thoughtful post bears comparison to the unwatchable insecurity-narcissism spirals of folks who constantly post the details of daily personal travails, with the flavor of an fawning biographer charting the actions of one of humankind's most creative and independent-thinking pioneers (not coincidentally exposing an astonishing lack of self-insight in the process).
Shocking that basso comes to the defense of a wingnut accused of plaigarism. Although, in fatty's case, I'm inclined to believe that he really didn't understand the accepted internet convention of posting your source, even though he has been participating in BBS forums for more than six years. This would be in character. When basso ripped off another writer he obviously knew what he was doing because he took the time to change a few words here and there.
I can understand not posting the source, but at least try to indicate that its not your own words.. like wrap everyting around
Yeah. I screwed up. But an immediate reply was made about it being copy and pasted, so I didn't think it was necessary to go back and edit it.
I can't help feeling that the harsh reaction including rimrocker's smackdown is actually making FFB's point about liberals being sensitive.
Rimrocker's response is a close second to Desert_Rocket's christmas song of a smackdown on Fatty last year.
Good natured ribbing: "Damn rimrocker, you've been eating too many plates of spaghetti. No way you could even dunk on an 8 ft goal now." Stupidity: What you posted. Nothing needs elaboration... it's all in front of you. You are right though. I did take part of it personally. I used to just shrug off jokes people made about government workers, but after Oklahoma City, I now confront that stuff. Since 9-11 and since I've worked with a bunch of firefighters from NYC, I have even less patience for people appropriating others heroism for cheap and tawdry political gain. (Not to mention Tillman, Lynch, etc.) The one thing that really sets me off is that this administration lied to those people working the pile about the hazards they were exposed to... and the people who wrote what you posted, the people that think what you posted is funny, and the people who benefit from it aren't fit to shine their shoes, much less claim them all as some monolithic group that supports the current Republican leadership or some failed ideal of the Conservative movement.
bucket's response was right on... not everyone fits the caricatures now prevalent on the Right... Liberals aren't all wusses and Soldiers aren't all heroes. It's a dangerous pretend world that has been created for people who the original post appeals to. Americans are free to do what they want and think how they want. When some little ex-frat boy with a trust fund and a $90 tie tries to be the next P.J. O'Rourke, only minus the talent and humor, pardon me if I don't give a polite chuckle and pretend it's all in good fun. By the way, I'm surprised you're not chiming in here, since you sit around in your robe drinking fine liquors and throwing French phrases around like you have something against the American language. By the piece FFB posted, you'd be a girlie-man fetching stuff for FFB's manly backyard BBQ.
Then this is what you should have written, instead of the name-calling temper tantrum you threw back. It would have been much more respected, at least by me. Makes it real difficult to lecture about maturity when you go that route. Oh, and the "girl" I'm dating is 41. Do I really need to say "woman?" Honestly, you have no idea who I am, so quit pretending you do.
Some of us (and by us I don't mean me) on this board are just a littleSensitive! FFB I almost pissed my pants because it was so damn funny. Thanks for the laugh. For all of you in the political correctness brigade....."Wha! Wha! Wha! Why not find something important to whine about.

Wow. Such outraged affront, and from a group of people who as a whole have zero problems insulting people who do not agree with them. Times change, but people don't, not really. Aesop was writing about these same absurdities 2600 years ago.
It is funny that you would try to use a slap at McCain to get a rise out of me when at no time in history, not today and no time in the future would I ever vote for him. You see I am just not so sensitive or insecure that I can't laugh at something that was clearly meant to be funny and nothing else. The day we loose the ability to laugh at ourselves will be a very sad day. I say again...Very Funny FFB.
Funny thing even with all this 9/11 stuff people dont realize that firemand vote almost strickly Democrat... the IAFF which is the fireman's union always endorses democrats.. and fireman HATE Rudy Giuliani he screwed them pre and post 9/11....
