Many think Liberal and Conservative is a modern invention, but if you take a longer historic perspective, you will see that just about everyone today is a Liberal in most of their thinkings compared to people centuries back. The founding fathers were certainly the Liberals of their days when they created the constitution.
This is a thinly disguised "I want to grow up and be a man someday" thread. It fails miserably. Here's what we have: A thirty-something guy whose only goal in life appears to be an unrealized desire to relive the best times of his 17th year four nights a week and is so scared of real women that he objectifies them and only hangs around those who have the personality of a little girl, posts an article that insults a good portion of the board and worse, uses it to elevate his own self esteem by denigrating others and making absurd generalizations based on the way Americans vote. This is an example of the same type of personality that feels flattered anytime Rush calls his audience "intelligent" when anyone with half a brain knows he's really calling them "sheep." Jimbo... a man is not defined by what he imbibes or eats. He is not defined by labels. He is defined by the choices he makes in life, the responsibilities he takes on, the contributions he makes, the respect he gives others, including women and people different from himself. A man thinks for himself. By posting this, you've essentially called a good number of your fellow posters and Americans stupid, lazy, pansy parasites. I'm sure you'll come back and say it was just a joke. And it is funny... just not in the way you intended... all it really does is expose your own inadequacies for everyone to see and show everyone that you can be manipulated by political operatives who appeal to your vanity and sense of powerlessness. As a Liberal meat-eating wine-drinking designated hitter-hating novel-reading firefighter husband and father who has seen more of the still Wild West than anyone else on this board and doesn't suffer fools gladly, let me close with two things: Don't post this kind of crap anymore. Grow up.
I will agree with the piece on one thing. The invention of beer was one of the most important moments in human history
Awesome post, Rimrocker. As to the original post, IMO, most doctorate degree holders (Phds, MDs, DDS, etc) that I've come across in my life tend to be liberals. Not saying that's the case but I just find it funny that the author chose to give all the "cool" jobs to the conservatives while giving liberals basket-weaving and manure shoveling.
Liberals invented the internet. Conservatives invented spam, political chain e-mails and worst of all, basso's threads.
I had a bad day today and was feeling down, so I came here to read Rimrocker's post once more. Everything is better now.
LOL. I wish I could be mad at your little tirade here, but I honestly couldn't care less what you think of me. Obviously this good-natured ribbing post hit a little too close to home for yourself. Nope. What we have here is a guy who's been dating a girl for seven months and probably sees his friends of 20 years once a week. But you resort to the now almost cliched reference of "Fatty's a drunk." Good show. Bravo. I'd love to see where in the hell you are getting the reference about women. Please elaborate. As for the rest, it doesn't apply to me in the least, so there's no need to respond. Uh, sure. Thanks for the obvious. Posting a ribbing says all of this, eh? Good lord. Glass houses, my friend. Don't take things so personally.
Mos def, his post had no insight whatsoever. Total garbage. Ignore it. So are we cool with a) posting email forwards on the bbs and b) posting email forwards as our own writing in this forum? We could make Basso a moderator.
I can tell you didn't care about the response by your elaborate response! NOTHING says 'indifferent' like a point by point counter to a post.
I always like it when fatty posts to let us know he does not care what anyone else posts. Nothing conveys indifferance quite like making sure to point out said indifferance repeatedly.
I'm fine with a). Apologize for not crediting the author. It was not meant to be construed as something I wrote.
Yep. That took all of a minute to post. I wouldn't have even bothered, but everyone had to keep up with the "oh snap! No you didn't" idiocy, so I felt something needed to be said. If you can't take a joke, you're way too sensitive, period.
that you need to tout your own bonifides shows far more insecurity about yourself than anything FFB wrote does about himself.
