No doubt the Rox is a playoff team this season. It is simply because of JVG? Rudy is a NICE guy who is only capable to coach a veteran team. Period.
Perhaps, but a loss in November is just as important as a loss in April when it's all said and done. Heck, if we would have beaten Indiana in the first game of the season last year, we would have made the playoffs. It's never too early.
It's never too early to watch the scoreboard and root against the teams who should be competing with the rox for a playoff spot. These 3 are the significant losses imo. We have a significant chance of being higher seeds than them. TWolves, nah, not really. Unless Garnett is injured for a significant amount of time I don't see us overtaking them this year.
Yeah, they have (had) three key pieces for a big time team (SM, SM, AS). But they are not playing the the same type of fire, never-give-up attitude. I've remember that last year in the play-offs, the Suns were a scary team. They wouldn't back down! I remember thinking, "Damn! These guys play like I want the Rockets to play!" They were not afraid of anyone! You can have two types of rookies/young players. One that's scared and timid. And the other that's new, but trying to prove themselves. The Suns were the later. They were a new team in the playoffs. They were a young, hungry team. They kept fighting. I wonder if the TNT interviews with Marbury had an effect on the team? Remember when Marbury said after a loss, "We need to raise our level, and then raise our level another level. Then get even a higher level than that..." Ernie Johnson, K Smith, and Barkley made fun of Marbury and I think that took something out of his confidence. I mean if the TNT staff didn't take him seriously, then how can his teammates? If there was ever a better example of the consummate "jock talk," that was it. I think we all knew what he meant. But the way he said it make him look silly. Oh, well. The season it early. We can't count them out. Just a thought...
