    Really?

The way it reads to me is that "They're the same" is referring to Al Qaeda and "this new wave of European politicians". Thus, he is equating these European politicians and Al Qaeda.

Again, if that means he sees himself in the middle between these politicians and Al Qaeda, that is very telling.

So one should not speak the truth because it allegedly "will further put up walls"?

It is easier to ignore what is happening than to shine a light and illuminate it, even if it is uncomfortable for others.

Precisely my thoughts, friend. If this was a white person, we'd all be shaking our heads and dismissing it as hate speech, but because the woman's an Arab all of a sudden what she says is valid and worth listening to?

I suppose Uncle Tom is more convincing than the KKK, but if the overall message is misguided than what's the difference?

So you've seen what she's said, and believe that it is undoubtedly the truth?

It certainly isn't able to be verified that what she said is true, and there are millions of people who would disagree with her.

I'm just curious how you were able to decide that it was undoubtedly true?

No need to act even dumber than you are - it is my opinion that what she said is true. Can't believe I had to spell that out for you.

Then if you agree that it is your opinion that it's true it isn't necessarily true and your original question was about people not speaking the truth if it would put up walls.

There's a difference between speaking the truth, and speaking your opinion that something is truth when they will put up walls.

That being said, it's a minor distinction because she should definitely say what she believes. I firmly agree with her being allowed to say that.

So then your "distinction" is completely irrelevant, right? What practical effect is it supposed to have?

My distinction isn't an argument for against what she is saying, just that she has the right to say it, and should say it.

I disagree with what she's saying. The only thing I wanted to make clear is that it isn't an undeniable truth she's proclaiming. So it isn't like she's building walls or destroying bridges or whatever by merely stating the truth. Though, it appeared as if that's how you wanted to paint the picture of what's going on.

Just out of curiosity, have you been to a French suburb?

I guess it could be read that way. I read it differently. I think anyone who says 'there is no such thing as moderate Islam' has an extreme view and can be considered an extremist. Of course, those extremist that claim to be Muslims resort to violence and this minister has not. I'm sure you will agree that extremism has degrees and those extremist that consider themselves Muslim are on the far edge of the spectrum.
