people don't talk about him much because the Jazz will keep him. He's probably going to get an extension this summer unless he asks for max. Which i wouldn't blame him for, i think he'll play his way into max next season.
re David West, i think he's a great fit for the Rockets. i'd even say the best fit of all available PFs until you consider age. But as a Pacers fan, i hope and think that he'll stay in Indiana. Indiana could offer him something like 4/40, and i doubt other teams would top it.
I think it's Dwight, Paul or wait for '14. Look at the unrestricteds: Deng Pierce Dirk Bogut Granger Kobe Pau ZBo Lebron Bosh Wade Melo Duncan Gay Lowry Jennings Jeff Teague Restricted: Vasquez Favors Cousins George sanders (Not tht we have a chance at any of them...maybe Cousins)
Yeah David West is a beast, but he's starting on the downslope of his career. I think he's at the tail end of his prime at Indy right now. But he is a beast, so underrated, wish there was a younger version of him right now.
No way we get him but he would be a good PF. Could probably help a few of our younger PFs to actually develop a little.
David West is solid Starting role playing PF. As far as championship quality I would pick another handful of PF's over David West. I might even pick pau gasol over David west just for the fact Pau Gasol passes well.
too old. by the time harden and parson's are in their prime he will be over the hill. i know dwight is in his prime now, but a guy like that you have to take if you can get him. i'd consider saving some space for next year rather than signing smith. young guys that can grow with the team and have all star potential > guys in their prime that aren't all stars (smith). Gay, Jennings, Jeff Teague, Cousins, George, sanders would be my list. that being said, there is no guarantee for the future, so if we can get dwight/smith right now then you have to do it.
