I want DVDs of Night Court, Dobie Gillis, Patty Duke, the first two Newharts and I'll be happy. It takes a miracle to find any of these on cable.
RM95 -- I want "Ed" on DVD. I doubt seriously that show will ever hit syndication. Too character heavy...hour long episodes.
I hope Jerry directs and records them. He'll probably go with three cameras, two in front of the DVD and one up on the couch.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it on TBS or TNT. TBS is getting into syndication quite a bit. With Sex and the City over there, I could see them going for Ed.
Patty Duke Show is another one I'd like to see. I'm actually surprised neither of the Newhart shows haven't made it to DVD yet. Of course, I worry about the studios offering a first season and then never following up with a second season on some of these older shows. Look at The Mary Tyler Moore Show. First season out nearly two years ago with no word on a second season ever coming out.
maybe. that would be great. i'm just thinking there aren't enough episodes...and hour long...probably means not. but, hey...i'm all for it!!!
Screw that, I'm camping out at the store so I'll have it before you do. I almost cried when I saw the trailer before Starsky & Hutch. I've been waiting for this moment for years.
I enjoyed Too Close for Comfort and watched it regularly, which is sad given that Jm J. Bullock was so prominently featured.
Wow, there are actually other Patty Duke fans out there? I grew up on that, watching it, then My Three Sons and the Donna Reed Show from 7-9pm on Nickoledeon every night before going to sleep in 4th grade!
Meet Patty who's been most everywhere... From Zanzibar to Trafalgar Square... . . . They're cousins.... Identical cousins, and you'll find... They walk alike, they talk alike, at times they even <something> alike... Damn, I really got nothing!
I'm pretty sure it was Cathy who had been most everywhere and Patty who'd only seen the sights a girl can see from Brooklyn Heights.
But Patty's only seen the sights a girl could see from Brooklyn Heights! (wow, I was a little late on that)
Yeah, I remember stuff like that, but it takes me five minutes to come up with my PIN at the ATM. Speaking of TV shows on DVD, what's the deal with Netflix not having ALF: Season 1 on DVD?
The ALF Season 1 boxset is getting piled on right now over at the Home Theater Forum because the episodes are reportedly the syndicated versions and are missing 3-4 minutes of footage. So much for owning "the Complete First Season". Thankfully, Seinfeld won't be pulling the same crap.
