OK. They would be a 50 win team in the East Conference, but no way in the West Conference, that's just pure fantasy right there.

Who said Howard will get $3 mil/yr in Los Angeles?

You have to acknowledge the fact that the package surrounding Howard is awful. Those players are really bad, except Richardson, and their contracts are horrendous.

To this point, not a single GM has ever called out a player bluff when they claim they'll sign for less money elsewhere. Every single GM has caved.

I honestly believe Morey will not cave in that situation, and call Howard's bluff. He may fail, but as a fan, I would want my GM to do that rather than do some stupid S&T where we get some crappy picks

Not a single one of them come close Dwight Howard's impact on the floor. None of them are "superstars." Dwight Howard is.

Kobe told Charlotte he wasn't going to play there. IIRC that was before the CBA that really tightened down on rookie salaries and leverage in negotiations. If Kobe had been born a few years later, he'd have been a top-10 pick for a crappy team.

And please, the argument made for drafting first in this thread is all about "if you draft a star other players will come play for your team." Shaq did not go to LA to pair up with a rookie Kobe. So that line of argument has no merit beyond its technicallity

The odds of the rockets landing a superstar is ziltch, which is the same as the rockets resigning dwight which is the same as the rockets actually trading for dwight.

Dig a little deeper brother. For your information, the Lakers were a playoff team that year so their pick would have been no where near for the number one pick which the Lakers used on Magic. The NBA gave the Lakers 3 first round picks courtesy of the then New Orleans Jazz as a result of New Orleans signing Gail Goodrich.

I also forgot about James Worthy coming in on a trade as well.

The question is ...is Howard on Durants level-one exciting to watch-one is unorthodox to watch, but Beast mode...if we were doing this trade and you haters of Morey look at it that way...then what guys both have been to finals
    Cept Howard BEAT LBJ:cool:

Another thread for the tanking butt pirates to sit here and debate the merits of sucking. Good opinion by the OP but this could have easily slid into one of the other 22 tanking threads. Again for you tanking butt pirates, the average number of years to hit the superstar lottery is 10 years of solid sucking to get one "superstar" or hit number one in the right draft. The odds are much better to trade for a star and convince him to stay.
