I don't like us staying. I don't like the Taliban and/or Al-Q. I don't like sinking tons of money into Afghanistan. I don't like leaving Afghan women to the whims of nutjobs. I don't like anything about any of our choices. I favored the war when it started, thinking that it would be done the right way. I was wrong about that. There might have been a time or a chance to get out gracefully, but that was bungled long ago. Now, we're screwed... we're just trying to decide how much... and our mistakes are going to cost us for a long time.
it amazes me that people can actually try to complain about the time it took to make this decision, including cheney. these people are delusional
perhaps you can share with us how this is substantively different from what W's recommendation was upon leaving office?
One thing I know to be true: Nothing is ever accomplished without a deadline. If you think the Taliban are thinking they win on a certain date if they can just survive, you might consider that the free people of Afghanistan are thinking we lose on a certain date if we don't take full advantage of the help we have now.
Is there a poll that shows that majority of Americans want a complete and immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan?
just to be clear, a nation goes to war, not presidents, and not soldiers. this is America's war, just as Iraq was, and will remain so.
Your posting of threads from Freerepublic has contributed mightily to the cause over the last decade. SALUTED

That's the ideal, but when you have an administration that views a war as a benefit to their domestic political ambitions, it kind of negates the concept.
or an opposition that does everything in its power to undercut the war effort, and ensure its failure.
you mean like voting for your president to march into Iraq on false evidence? sheeet, I wish their was opposition to that clustermuck
The whole premise is idiotic. Unlike when Bush was Pres Obama actually is laying out specific goals so that we will know what winning actually looks like. Not only that, he has given a date by which he expects the work done. It is refreshing.
Thankfully - the war effort had you around to buttress it with all of your posts copied from FreeRepublic. I heard the 101st Airborne Division does a "Find more posts by basso" before every mission. A grateful nation is in your debt.
none! everyone's pissed about it for repubs it's not enough for dems it should never happen Obama is pleaseing no one here
