Not to derail this thread, but what happened to your thread in the Astros section AB?? Did it get moved to another forum or am I just losing my mind??
Let's just say a poster lost his cool while attempting to debate The_Conquistador. That is a pretty typical response when your argument has no merit.
The last I saw of the Astros thread, AB and I were the last ones to post, and I didn't see anything to warrant it being deleted... "A cold snap in hell" ?? I'd wait until the NHL is predominately black. When black people actually have an interest in Hockey.
I e-mailed Clutch as to why it was removed. The last thing I wrote, "Trader_Jorge is the only poster on here that I have ever seen the word 'HATE' associated to". Dang Jorge, you would stoop so low as to LIE to discredit me. You are less than human.
That's cool for Iginla and the league, it's just a shame they waited until what could possibly be the NHL's last year for while to do it. The Lockout is going to be ugly!
I would have liked to see that Astros thread. I find it interesting to read Another Brother's views on race relations. So far I usually disagree, but I find them interesting and try to understand them.
And if you had ever had to deal with racism or hurtful prejudice for a good period of your life, you might be a little more sympathetic or sensitive to it as well. I may not agree with a lot of what AB says. In fact, I completely disagreed with his Astros' take. However, I try to be a little respectful and understand where he, as a black man, is coming from. It'd be nice if everyone else could do the same instead of spouting off the same tired responses whenever race issues arise.
I love Craig. He graduated HS a year ahead of my brother, and lots of the local kids watched him play when he was at Clarkson. it happens to be a great Hockey school, but also is in Potsdam. totally a local product from my old town. He used to come to career day. His brother was a great player too, but Craig somehoe has been able to have a long career. Kinda funny to see a guy you knew quoted. I was class of 93 by the way. my brother was 91. my whole HS team sent every senior to a good D-1 school though. full rides for all of em. I remember one kid in my class left school after 8th grade to play for a winnipef jets minor league team. 8th Grade. sure he was about 6'1 and had a full beard, but still. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?encode=TRUE&pid=1078
