Maybe Rockets -> Yao -> Chinese -> Chinese fans -> Chinese fans' debate on Kobe and Shaq -> ... :D

    No, it doesn't.

Yoda trying to convey wisdom through broken English isn't really a good setup.

poor Chinese good man = Les A.
was hungry = Win a ring
    hot dogs = players
    stomach = paying customers
    Hotdogs 1-5 = Rocket starters
    hotdog #6 = Mike James!
was no hungry = We win the championship
no money = Signs Mike James! to a Matt Maloney because Les thinks he's not only as good as Kobe, but also is responsible for the success.
Why not ate the sixth first? = Les questions if Yao or TMac deserves the max.

    Totally Rockets related...

It's amazing how people focus on "hot dog." (Just make fun each other, I guess). That really doesn't matter. The original version should be Steam Bread (Northern China version) or Rice Cake (Southern China version.) The poster chose "Hot Dog" for Americanizing purpose, but ...

Anyway, IMHO, Yao/TMac are the first 5 PIECES, and Sura/JH/JB/DW/Dike/MJames collectively the last (sixth) PIECE.

    Be Fun Winning

i think it's yao who was hungry to get to shaqs level.

shaq of course, could eat 6 hot dogs.

the hotdogs represent levels of talent. yao is maybe at the 4th level, or almost there. once you reach the 6th hotdog you are dominant enough to win a championship.

everyone wants yao to be at the 6th hotdog already. we all say he should eat that one first because we are not thinking of the path that leads to the end. yao needs to get better and we must wait for him to eat the first 5.

so, let the hotdog count begin! only 2 more to go by yao until he can win us a championship! then sura cant fall in faint....

not many of us have eaten 6 hotdogs, kobe has.
he's not the 6th hotdog, he's the poor man trying trying to get full without first being hungry. is that the right answer? :)

    Very interesting!

As said, translation is a re-creation. So we can have our own versions of translation for this story.

I am born in China, so I understand what the story means. But I am not sure how aol wants to relate this story to rockets or Kobe.

However, it reminds me a past game between laker and Orlando. T-mac single-handedly delivered 40+ points, while shaq kept lakers in the game. In the last quarter, Kobe woke up and out-scored t-mac like 18-4 (not the exact number), so everybody said Kobe is much better because he showed up when it counts. Kobe is like that number six burger, but he hasn’t realized that shaq and his teammates were playing the roles of first five burgers.

As to the relation to rockets, I would say I like what we are doing now. Sometimes, role players act as the first five burgers, and our two super-stars do the No. 6 thing. Sometimes, T-mac will keep us in the game, and let yao finish it, or vise versa. What is important is they understand every burger counts in the victory.

I know, the Chinese posters makes paying $10 bucks for access to this board like a steal.
