I am not an insider and neither r u. My first post simply said I wish the league would investigate. (There is no telling if they are or not) You, on the other hand, simply dismissed the whole thing and decided that everything was cozy.
McHale made the regrettable decision to put the agreement on paper, creating actual evidence of circumvention. Likewise, if there was a deal between Miami and Duffy, some kind of money transfer would be necessary, which would also create evidence. The league may want to look into it, but as a fan I have to assume Duffy isn't that stupid.
On the contrary, I think he is very smart. That is what makes it hard to believe they could make a $4.1 mil mistake like that!
