Why do your parents hang pictures of you on their wall even if you don't particularly care about them? Other people's needs may or may not affect your decisions. I'm saying that the greatest players take into account other people's opinions of themselves in their decisions less than lesser players do. I disagree that all great athletes are motivated by getting into the Hall of Fame- I believe they're motivated by the greatness and dominance aspect of it, but not the glamor and glitz aspect, the prestige.

 

There have been many reports that he is VERY concerned about how people think of him. Much more than other players. Ya'll thought K-Mart got his feelings hurt easily, just wait. I think he'll be fine as long as he doesn't get negative tweets right after the trade...if it happens. Everyone will used to the idea of him being here by the time he steps foot in the Toyota Center.

If people do start booing him I'll know that as a franchise we deserve to dwell in mediocrity forever. I'll also disassociate myself with our entire classless fanbase, if that does happen--can't call yourself a Rockets fan if the team's fans are known to be horrible people.

However, none of that will happen. Rockets fans will show some class and some desire to win. Also, nobody is going to be upset because Morey is going to win this trade like he always does.

 

Nobody is booing him yet... he has done nothing here.... the question was whether to emphatically embrace him or just saying meh.... until he proves his worth

 

Don't really care anymore to be honest. If it happens then it happens, if it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen. If we don't get Dwight during the offseason, we're going to have a really fun time trying to win any games with a roster of rookies, a few 2-3 year players and an unhappy Kevin Martin (who will probably play out of his mind this year for his last big contract, I'm sure).

I wasn't always a pro tanker, but if Bynum is saying he would come here then why wouldnt we get a top 5 pick this year and sign him next year? Nope let's just gut the team for a diva
