You guys are smoking crack. Hawkins played horrible tonite..missing shots, bumbling the ball, getting burned/screened. Ming was getting it taken to him on the defensive end. He's not a stopper at least not yet. Rice was getting the rebounds and loose balls. Point is, Marbury made the play at the end. Francis, Mobley, and Griffin did not. Bad coaching? Or bad execution? I say...inexperienced players leading to bad execution. I'm amazed Houston had the lead throughout most of the game...as the Suns outplayed them. Houston hit a lot of jumpers, but the Suns were scoring inside on drives and cuts with impunity.
(Moochie, Francis, Mobes, KT, and EG) I agree with you, I dont like this lineup, with this lineup we get out rebounded and killed defensively. Why the HELL is Kenny playing so long?? Yao or MO Taylor who both were playing very good were benched to Kenny and Eddie who werent playing good? What Gives?
Bad execution. I thought Houston looked a little out of sync tonight. Having said that there were a couple of players that seemed to look pretty good but just not as a team. Francis seemed perticularly out of sync all night.
I really think it's a matter of conditioning. Mo and Yao, hot as they were, got tired. Both KT and EG are in the kind of shape where can play ironman minutes, but just had off nights. You think Rudy should have kept Steve out of the game, since he was having an off night too?
Well call us drug addicts then I guess. All the Rockets needed was defense from Hawkins on the last play. That's it. They didn't him to hit an open shot or anything. The bottomline is that the Rockets should have had their best defensive players in there to make a stop. And I'd rather have a 7-6 guy in there who can accidently block a shot then a 6-9 who won't even attempt to block a shot. Bottomline is that this was a winnable game even with the offnights by key players, but the defense didn't get it done at the end. And putting the best defensive players out there would have at least given the Rockets a better chance.
Taylor played better than EG today. I think he shouldn't have been taken out in the 4th quarter today. I would have had Mo,KT,Rice,Francis, and Mobley on the floor in the end tonight and I'm not saying that because EG missed the last shot.
Not when your option is Moochie Norris. But when your option was an on Fire Mo Taylor, and a post presence who was on pace to break out of a serious funk and having a very good game then you go to it.
After watching that game it was obvious to me that Phoenix really sucks. A well coached Houston Rockets roster should have won this game by 14 to 18 pts.
I was yellin at Griffin to freakin look around and realize that his man had totally backed off him. Griffin was busy looking away from the basket, tryin to find someone to pass it to, but he had a very makeable 18 footer staring him in the face! Dreamshake: I agree with your points. I was quite puzzled when I saw MOtay leaving the game, and Griffin coming in for him. I wouldn't necessarily call our offense "fluid" in the first quarter though... to me it seemed that we were just hot (ie I think Mobley went 4/4 or somethin in the 1st Q). There didn't seem to be a lot of ball movement.
Never, no matter how Steve is playing I want him out there, its just that I think the Rockets play Kenny Thomas WAYYY too much , and I think we would have won had Yao or Mo been in there. Seriously watch how long Kenny plays he had 41min went 5-15 scored 14 pts. Yao and MO: Mo 18min 7-13 14 pts. YAO 14min. 5-6 10pts. Just seemed to me that Yao and MO would have been alot better choice tonight, and they really need to give them more minutes
It is when your down by one and you decide to jack a 3 for a win.......why? To improve your chances of winning?
Because it was our last option. Francis was covered. It's not about the 2 pointer over the 3 ponter when all you have is the 3, after the 2 is taken away.
Whatever, Marbury made an amazing shot. It would have just looked that much better if Yao had been in there, and He'd be on the free throw line if Hawkins had been in there. How do you argue that two rookies who aren't even starters should be the crunch time players? I'm sorry, if that's the basis for pointing the finger at Rudy, I think you are crazy. A rookie who barely made the team should be in on the final play???????? A project that consistantly gets it taken too and fouls should be put in there!!!!!!! What are you thinking? Marbury made an incredible shot, and you blame the defense...how about blaming Cat for missing two free throws that could have put the game away (considering the suns couldn't buy a 3).
