I know its no big deal, just like to keep up with ex Rockets. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/transactions Bucks Sign Andre Barrett, Tommy Smith The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Andre Barrett and Tommy Smith to free agent contracts, General Manager Larry Harris announced today. In accordance with club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Good for him. Good to hear he is still going to be around this season. He is a good passer and not a bad scorer.
Glad to hear that he is on with another team. I read that this mourning in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal. He probablly won't get a lot of burn, if any. TJ Ford is back and Maurice Williams played suprising well for them. I hope the best for Andre though, I liked him......and he was in the game for the McMiracle (remember, he threw the pass to T-Mac on the inbounds after we called our last time out and TMac shot it right over Bowen to put us down 2).
Good to see Barrett make a squad, I like his energy, decent shooter, good passer. What's the word on TJ? Is he gonna be ready come November?
one month from now... Andre Barrett has been released. Temas sign a lot of guys before training camp only to cut them. Lonny Baxter might be one of ours or he might take weathespoon's (might big shorts too fill) spot at the nd of the bench
According to all the stuff in the MJS I've been reading, they are expecting TJ Ford to be back and healthy. I'm not sure that's really all that fair. His first prognosis when the doc's gave him the ok to start full contact practices (that sounds like football doesn't it?) was that as long as he wasn't constintly getting knocked down, he'll be fine. However, that's Ford's whole game. He is a guy who drives to the hoop to get off his shot or dish off to another guy for an easy bucket. Not a grear shooter, but they aren't going to be setting screens for open shots for him (not with Redd on the team). I think TJ will be ok and hopefully can be back to full strength. If that is the case, they will be a solid team. Ford, Redd, Mason, Bobby Simmons, Bougat (don't hate, he'll be solid).....that's not a bad squad. They have depth at PG (which is why we might never see Andre suit up), SG/SF (essentially Mason fills in for Redd or Simmons). They aren't very good at the 4, but they get rebounding and toughness out of the possition. So it will be interesting. I only follow the Bucks cause I'm going to school in Milwaukee. Milwaukee and Philly are the only non-Rockets teams I cheer for in the NBA because I live near Milwaukee now, and grew up near Philly......but Houston captured my heart.
Trust me, Weatherspoon is trade bait, we aint getting rid of him. He'll be gone at midseason just before the deadline.
