97.9 used to play SOME R&B...they don't anymore? they do play lighter R&B on 95.7 some...and KTSU plays some R&B as well. nothing...i mean NOTHING....beats KTSU's Latin Jazz on Saturday nights!!! best block of radio EVER!!!
All commercial radio (with the exception of sportstalk) is crap. It's like arguing over which is better, turnips, rutabaga or parsnips. Satellite baby satellite!

Umm... well, it sucks really bad. Though on the Houston station I'm sure they'll still find a way to play Godsmack and ZZ Top every 15 minutes, of course. Ha ha, oh well.

Houston radio blows...1/2 of the stations play tracks so they repeat all day long...the rest have no clue what the difference is between old and new music. Hopefully this new station is better.

Commercial FM will always suck, because it's commercial. They are trying to appeal to the masses, and we all know about the masses. You know those guys who wear their pre-tattered baseball cap, and roll up their sleeves on their button up Gap shirt, with a pair of jeans cut at the bottom, with some hiking boots, screaming about how awesome Godsmack is. Oh I can't forget the mandatory semi-tuck in the front.

sorry...been in GARM for too long today. actually....I have been known to listen to the light jazz station from time to time...just becaue I am a big proponent of rock(particularly hard rock)...doesnt mean that is all I listen to. thats it...twist the knife a little deeper.
I'm just referencing the cookie cutter look a lot of guys have these days is all. I mean, despite all of that, you guys are Rockets fans, so you can't be all that bad.
it's all good. when you're 30, married with 2 kids, you're really not concerned about the "novelty" of your look.
And when you're about to be 33, divorced with one kid, you mos definitely are! BTW, I've listened to this a bit today. Very similar to 101, which isn't a good thing. I was hoping for some different rock songs; not the same played ones that doomed 101 in the first place.
