Blazers POV recap: Blazers coach wants more consistency in foul calls. Blazers don't like how Blazer Bigs are picking up fouls away from the ball, or when they are fighting with Yao for post position because it falls under "jostling for position" or incidental contact. Ever since Justice's mixed martial arts article after game 2, the series changed. Yao is allowed to camp in the lane. Blazers should be allowed to be physical (before the catch), Yao shouldn't be able to walk into the paint. Why has Yao not been in foul trouble any more? It changes the way the Blazers play. Ticky tack fouls away from ball means Yao gets post position much more easily, which is bad for blazers. They're not gonna get to the foul line, and its not the refs fault. Rox have a good track record of not giving up foul shots. So, blazers gotta execute, and challenge Yao and Scola in the lane. Matt Bullard says: he agrees with Nate mcmillan. Consistency helps everyone. What is and what is not a foul? More experience = easier to adapt to referees within the game. Luis Scola has improved on defense, as evidenced by Lamarcus production.
Matt Bullard is a trader. Everything he said sure sound like he's sucking Blazers' dicks. Saying that he agreed with Nate McMillan that the refs need to be consistent. Well...if the damm refs are being consistent, then Yao wouldn't be getting himself murdered in game #2 or #3, would he??? Because they're NOT being consistent, that is why Rick Adelman complaint and now they corrected in game #4. What sort of consistent do you need?? TO have the refs go back to calling like they did in game #2 or #3 which is totally wrong? The defenders should not be allowed to overly aggressive over an offensive player...that has always been called foul ever since i watch NBA.
The word is traitor. not trader. Matt Bullard is not trading for anyone. Nor is he a traitor for saying what he thinks. Consistency is a good thing. How often did we call for it in the Jazz series the last two years.
lmfao..... we pretty much have come to the conclusion that if we were another team we would FRONT YAO EVERYTIME. if a team doesnt do it when we play, we think, y the hell arent they fronting yao. the reason we say this is cuz IT WORKS. but here is the funny thing, they were just now complaining and second guessing the fronting of yao cuz they say it is giving scola free rebounds over and over again. its great to listen to other teams fans and commentators cuz u get to hear the other side of the arguement and realize that no one is ever 100% confident in the decisions their team makes
I admit a couple of times there were some ticky tack light contact fouls whistled on the blazer bigs. But I dont really think Oden with 4 fouls or Pryzbilla with 3 fouls makes that big a difference in game 4. I will say some consistency between the crews for each game can only help both teams. It helps the coaches game plan for what they need to do, and it helps the players know what they can get away with on a personal level. Did Bullard at least talk about Yao going straight up and keeping his arms straight up not being an automatic foul on him??
They're complaining about how Yao is being officiated? Wow if they played the Lakers in the playoffs, kobe would be shooting 20+ a game from the charity stripe
