This is a fallacy of logic if ever there was one. You are comparing two different teams from two different eras that faced two different sets of challenges. The reality is, although I believe that the 95 team would win in a head to head match up (primarily because of team chemistry and veteran experience), I don't believe that you honestly think that the 95 team would dominate the west today. They would probably be a mid to low position playoff team, as will be the case with the current incarnation.
I didn't say they'd necessarily "dominate the west today". I was implying they WOULD dominate today's Rockets. To say that today's Rockets are equal or better than '95 also implies that today's team would be capable of winning the '95 title. But let's get back to the '95 team in today's NBA since that's what the focus is. The west is most certainly much stronger,no debate there. Think about it this way though...the Spurs won with a dominant,versatile big man who is not quite on Dream's level at this point. They also had an end of the road superstar who was less effective than Clyde was in '95. The rest of the cast was a bunch of dedicated role players,old and young,who took turns stepping up to help the big guy. Sound familiar? Alot of the same characteristics of the Rockets in '95. So,to turn it around,are you saying the '95 Rockets couldn't hang with today's top teams? You think today's Spurs are somehow head and shoulders better than that '95 squad? You don't think Dream,Clyde and the fellas could keep up with Shaq,Kobe and their guys(minus Payton and Malone)?
Now i feel like going to look for the Rockets tapes my uncles taped and watch the crucial game 6 from the 1994 finals..
How can you even compare mobley to drexler? drexler would eat him alive!!! no competition. and.........Horry is not your average small forward. maybe during the reg. season he's a great role player, but come playoff time, he's one of the clutchest players to ever play. elie was a G too.

The difference btw 95 rockets and the spurs that won it all last season is that man could kenny and sam and elie and horry hit them three's like no one else could "LIVE AND DIE BY THE 3" They lived more by it then they died by it and the 3 point line was further out that year as well I believe. That's something the spurs weren't able to do consistently and that would be the difference there in my opinion
i think the Rockets in 95 would beat the 2003 team by 30 points though i think the 95 team is the second best rocket team of all time the best rocket team on paper was the 86 team
really... I wouldnt know... well anyways.. I guess the only reason we didnt beat the celtics is becuz they were simply to strong... can anyone give us a recap of how that went...
95 rockets will win hands down...but i can see the 95 guards getting crossed over by steve but cross overs don't win games
And besides guess who would be at the basket waiting for him. . There guards weren't the best defenders but they rotated well with team defense and always knew how to funnel them into the dream.
