You know, I kinda had the opposite thing happen to me today. I am taking an extremely awful class this summer at the UTA (motto: The University name that could be mistaken for a transit agency). At one point when we were doing group work, the discussion got to something about a guy asking his girlfriend to take out the trash. A young lady in my group mentions that she'd be out the door if her boyfriend ever told her to take out his trash. After a pause, she took great pains to note "not that I have a boyfriend". I mean, it wasn't like she was hitting on me or anything (I mean, I don't think she was, but I was yelled at back in April by a woman who was upset I didn't notice she had been hitting on me for months. So who knows?), but it was weird to her a woman take great pains to say she doesn't have a boyfriend when it often happens the other way (as we've discussed earlier, i.e. you innocently ask what time it is and receive "My boyfriend asks me what time it is" in response).
