First, I have never met a tea partier who carried a weapon to a rally or threatened anyone with violence. Second, Batman, you are not being rational. Just because tea partiers do not agree with Obama's policies does not mean they disagree with him because he is black. That is nothing short of ludicrous. Do you agree with all of Clarence Thomas' rulings? If not, does that make you a racist?
Apples and oranges. My disagreements with Thomas are based on actual things that happened, not my own imagination. Your complaints about Obama are imaginary. And, on every count, every thing your group complains about was worse under Bush. Czars, taxes (for over 90%), spending (Obama's not doing his off the books), dishonesty, secrecy, EVERYTHING. But that didn't bother you. Then the black Democrat gets elected and you guys freak out. So it's either the fact that he's black or that he's a Democrat. Or you are stupid AND crazy. Which is it? Blindly partisan? Racist? Or stupid and crazy? There are no other answers.
If it was that they just disagreed with Obama that wouldn't make them racist. If they didn't disagree with Bush about the exact same thing or worse, and then not only disagree, but disagree to the point where they are claiming they are going march on DC with weapons next time, when the exact same things were going on before if not worse, and it didn't inspire them to action, then it is something other than just a disagreement on the issues. That's what is disturbing. While you may not know any tea partiers who bring guns, some do. While you may not know the people with the racist, or socialist or nazi signs, they are there. ::edit:: I see that batman hit the submit button before I did.
weak-minded = people who can't see the obvious bush czars > obama czars bush & reagan tax rates > obama tax rates
I've tried to explain my position. If you prefer to use ridicule to silence the people who disagree with you, you are showing the principles by which you and your followers (like vlaurelio) would govern. Good night to you.
When your position is imaginary, you shouldn't be so quick to get your feelings hurt. You belong to a group of people who are pig biting mad based on a series of flatly untrue myths. That is pathetically sad. Never mind the protest itself; it's sad that they spent their money on plane tickets to make asses of themselves. And you beaming with pride at the whole failfest? Wowie. That's embarrassing for everyone.
No kidding. The poor babies better hurry up and murder their way to the top before we take away their guns, put them in re-education camps, send their grandmothers to death panels and make them gay marry each other.
9/12 protesters: If Obama doesn't get rid of his third arm we are going to take a chainsaw to him, and saw it off. Obama: I don't have a third arm. I never have had a third arm, and it isn't even possible for me to have one in the future. 9/12 protesters: You Lie! Obama: If you will just actually look at me, you will see that I have two arms just like the other presidents. 9/12 protesters: We don't want our children living in a country with a three arm President! Obama supporters: The guy has the same number of arms as the other presidents. Why is it now that all of a sudden you are worried about the number of arms the President has. 9/12 protesters: It's not because we are racist. Obama Supporters: Then what is the reason? 9/12 protesters: We don't like Presidents with 3 arms.
Yet, they're simultaneously complaining that Obama's increased taxes on (only) the wealthiest Americans are deserving of a new Boston tea revolt? That type of logic is unpossible. They answer, "Don't tread on me," flying revolutionary symbols and spouting revolutionary rhetoric, to the proposed Obama tax increase on the wealthy, a move necessary to right the sinking ship of the Bush economic catastrophe. And Obama's voyage back to fiscal responsibility is met with, again, not-even-veiled threats of insurrection? Calls for a new nullification crisis? (When was the last time America ran a surplus, rather than deficit? Under Clinton, with tax rates and an economic policy similar to Obama's. How did we squander those surpluses? Tax cuts, specifically the Bush tax cuts.) Not that most of the protesters even understand the original Boston tea party, or the underpinnings of the American Revolution. They just saw that Glenn Beck had developed a ye-old-timey tri-cornered hat fetish and named his new movement "Common Sense," and followed suit: Glenn Beck promoting an actor mind-reading Thomas Paine's 200 hundred year-old rotted corpse, for what he would think today: He played it on his tv show as well, and glommed on to the American revolution-speak that everyone has since been copying, to hilarious results.
