Sam- does Eric Holder know less about the constitution, and Supreme Court decisions, than you?

Holder also defended his decision to try Sheikh Mohammed in a civilian court even as he pursues military tribunals for some of the suspected authors of the October 2000 bombing attack on the USS Cole naval vessel.

Speaking of having stuff being ignored I brought up twice the difference between the Cole bombing and 9/11. One took place on US soil the other overseas and at a military target. That said I haven't seen a comment regarding that.

Now I'm not even going to pretend to be a legal expert but that seems to me a big difference. That said I would like to hear a comment in regard to that.

Eric Holder is a smart man.

    Two questions for you:

    1. Do you even know what statute he is proceeding under?
    2. If you know the answer to 1, has it been "approved by the courts"? Yes or no?

He hasn't retractred itr, and atrr trhe trime when questrioned about irt struck by his claim.

I know he pays lip service to gay rights. You can give him the benefit of the doubt and make up excuses in your mind that he didn't really mean what he typed just as long as you realize that it isn't based on any evidence from basso himself. I will wait until I see real commitment to the cause before I truly believe him to support the issue.

In that case then shouldn't KSM be treated as a POW and / or granted Geneva Convention protections?

Aww, we're back to this again. Cute stuff. Keep it up and please don't start any new threads.

HINT: you should google the phrase "military commission act of 2009" before you embarrass yourself further on this.

HE's opposed to a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

He has also volunteered to lend his voice to the change, which is something no other Presidents have done.

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/10/10/obama.gay.rights/index.html

Obama has lead the movement to repeal discriminatory laws.

As Senator he co-sponsored a bill to extend benefits rights to same sex partners.
    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/45068

In addition he's appointed the first openly gay person to be the head of the OPM

    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/45068

Furthermore he did extend benefits to some same sex partners.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/17/AR2009061702578.html

Sorry basso he's leaps and bounds ahead of where Bush was on the issue.

Your ridiculous stance on supporting being the same as not supporting a permanent ban via the constitution on same sex marriage detracts from any claims you make to support gay rights.

the answer is that I don't know, and nobody really knows because the issue has not come before the courts yet. And it won't, at least in his case. If the MCA of 2009 is declared unconstitutional, as was the MCA of 2006 we could definitively say so. But even if it's not, we would never know if it was unconstitutional as applied to his case.

The only thing we do know for sure is that your statement that the "courts have approved" was a lie. That's why you backed off it.

Now, since I have answered your questions many times over, please please, I beg you, with all the sincerity of a pleading toddler - please explain to me the "based in Yemen" defense.

I can't imagine you being fun to play chess with.

Sam: And I just took your Queen with my Knight, how do you like that?
Basso: No you didn't, I never moved my Queen to that spot.
Sam: Um, yes you did. Look, it's right here on the board.
Basso: Why do you hate special needs children?
    Sam: ...
    Basso: Checkmate.

Yeah, I am looking forward to playing you and your fearsome "based in Yemen" defense - I hear it is your number 1 strategy.

"based in Yemen" is a full-on pawn attack, seldom seen after the 9th century BC, when other pieces were invented.

    So... (wait for it)...

You might get PAWNed, if you play basso.

EDIT: justtxyank for the win -- that is awesome.

I totally disagree here. Whenever basso has to make the final move that will cause him to lose, he'll just get up, stop playing and pretend it never happened. Then a few days later, he'll ask Sam to play chess.
