I Love Romania:D:D:D. I Hope Robben can pay in our next game. he is just great to watch.

To bad Mexico lost, i always like Mexico(but that has a lot to do with its history, i have aways been facinated by the aztecs).

I'm sorry Mexico lost. Ah well, they're pretty much assured of qualification. And it's not like Mexico could have prevented the US from reaching the finals, so not too bothered in that sense either.

Arno, do you tape the games either on your comp or video??? I can't watch any home games, they don't show them online. Would be great if we could make some sort of arrangement for you to send me the matches?????

    Arno,

Don't think so. I always check out oranje.nl to watch the away matches. I'm not sure where to get the home matches. Haven't found any torrents or anything either. I have to change proxy servers a s well to watch the away matches as it's only meant to be for people in Holland (for some legal reason). I really miss watching the Holland matches and Dutch programmes like Voetbal Insite!

i shall check with some people i know if they know a way to watch the dutch team on internet. i will get back to you on that.

With the new channel Talpa, a lot of soccer programs changed, the summaries are now done by talpa and not by studio sport. so also a lot of soccer discuss programs like studio voetbal, have changed, they discuss more foreign soccer, like the english and italian and spanish leagues. I'm not sure about voetbal inside.

if you want i can tape some dutch team games. Just let me know. I can send them to you.(but like i said it has to be on video tape.)

I get the feeling that the hate between Mexico and The USA soccer teams is almost more then the hate of the dutch versus the german teams.
    Why is this?

Thought I edited that before anyone else saw it. Please delete it if possible.

It's got a lot to do with the Mexicans false sense that this is their game, they they still rule CONCACAF, and that it isn't possible for the US to be good. We've proven it time and time again that we are on their level and they still deny it. We beat them in the World Cup and they deny it. We'll continue to beat them as we get stronger and stronger. One day, they'll get it.

I'm new to soccer fandom (I really only follow the US National team, and only have been following them since the last World Cup).

But is it usual for a team to trash talk the other side after getting shut out.

At least Moses Malone made his me and 4 guys off the street comment before the Celtics punked us.

Also was anyone else annoyed by John Lopez'es article whining about how short sighted the US was in picking a venue where US fans would actually outnumber Mexican fans, Isn't that sort of the point of a home field advantage.

No it is not normal for players to trash talk to opponents. Compaired to basketbal you can say a LOT more to the refs during the game. But after the game there is almost no trashtalking.(sometimes saying it is the fault of the ref).

leroy420 I edited my post. Ok that might explain the attitude, but still it is more then i have seen with other countries.

There's also some hatred because of the dirty play by the Mexican team. The last 10 minutes of our World Cup game they spent hacking players whenever they had the chance and their captain was red carded and suspended four games for a head butt. Here's an example of a player taking a cheap shot on Beasley in last nights game.

And you can't deny the social tension between the countries. A lot of Mexicans feel that they are looked down upon by Americans and beating us in soccer is a way to prove themselves, and like leroy420 pointed out the US wants to prove that they are just as good of a team as Mexico.

    arno,

The Mexican team is just plain arrogant, and has been in denial for years and years now about the fact that they are NOT the best team in NA anymore. At this point, the rivalry between both countries is getting more and more interesting and if for nothing else, it's about pure pride. If these games were friendlies, you would still see the two teams going at it as if it were the World Cup finale, which is something you gotta love as a soccer fan.

At this point, the worst Mexico can say about the US soccer team is that we are on the same level.

Basically, Mexican soccer team thinks too much of themselves, it's not like they are Brazil or Argentina, they are more of a 'mid-pack' team like the USA team is. Only Brazil and Argentina have any sort of a track-record over the years that you can boast of here in the Americas.

Ok so now i heard te side of the Americans, and what is the Mexican side:D.

The USA have played pretty good the last couple of years, and they are starting to become a respected soccer nation. however i do not feel the fifa ranking is accurate(what a shock). Mexico isn't what it used to be, they do have on of the best jerseys(not sure if they still have the same, but they used to have the best looking jersey).

It is fun that there is a rivalry between these two teams, it is always interesting for a fan to watch games that are between rivals.
It used to be that way between Germany and Holland, however the last years Germany just isn't that good anymore. (right SJC :p ).

Can't wait to go to work on Tuesday, and taunt some supervisors. Ask people who is going to Germany next year.

That should give me some more work.

Thanks for the clip. That tackle on Beasley should have deserved a red card. Beasley was fouled hard like 7 times in the whole game. Amazing that not even one red card was given out.

Just say "ass" instead of "arse" - trust me on this one. ;)

And nothing is more hilarious than a team to get their ass kicked and still talk trash, lmao.
