I really liked Imitation Game, but I thought Keira Knightley was the one weak link in it. Not because her acting would have been terrible, but because she just doesn't make a very credible math nerd.

 

Race hustler at it again. I guess the checks bounced.

 

I think the actor/actress winners are all pretty easy choices this year (Redmayne, Moore, Simmons, Arquette)

Really good list of movies. No stinkers in the group unlike most years (The Theory of Everything might be a notch below the others). I'd be fine with any of the movies winning

 

I really hope Ida wins *something* -- was the best movie I saw during 2014. I think it's up for Best Foreign Film and Cinematography too.

I've really been wanting to see this.

 

It's on Netflix if you have it.

 

I saw Wild Tales and it's by far the funniest sh-t I've seen in a long time. Very dark humor though. Leviathan was fantastic but incredibly depressing. Hope either wins.

Interesting note : Richard Linklater's and Matthew Mcconaughey's dads played on the same team, and same position, at the University of Houston.

Good for JK Simmons. Best performance of the year.

 

i thought whiplash was a Great great movie also. the only other oscar movie i have seen this year was boyhood.

 

This show is tough to watch even in very limited doses.
