    I thought about this, and although Downey was great in Thunder, Ledger really was the best out of all of them- and I don't even watch many of those blockbuster-action-adventure type movies. I compare him favorably to Anthony Hopkins winning as Hannibal Lecter- their performances superceded the fact that the Academy tends to favor actors in drama movies as opposed to horror and action/adventure movies.

    Yes, he definitely deserved it- probably would've won it in many other years, as well.
