please bro just shut the **** up. I'm a Bengali Muslim in the U.S. Marine Corps. My occupation is Infantry. The job where hatred towards the enemy and blatant racism would be the most prevalent. Yet NO ONE has judged me based on their skin color. Everyone from the fireteam level to the company level trusts me with their damn lives and sorry that I take offense towards someone like you saying things about men you have zero experiences with and use internet news articles as your source of information.
how many times have you heard other white people call other white people redneck, hillbilly, trailer trash. Every racist joke I have seen spat between service members ended with a laugh. Every one dogs on everyone. That's how military culture is. No one I have personally met has been serious and at least at the small unit level people trust people no matter what background one is from.
So you're generalizing the entire U.S military based just on the people you've met? That sounds awfully familiar.....
Racism in the military....no way. Let me be the one to enlighten those who don't know. Like Chi stated, I heard 1 million times more racially charged slanders and slurs in the military than any other job I ever had. Asians get it by far the worst. Its almost like its acceptable to do it. The N word isn't used near as much as Chinc, or gook, or chinaman. You want to be the one who "tattles" for someone making a racially charged slur during a boot camp when you are slumbering with 60 other cats? I watched a Korean dude fight a black guy one on one, and feel as though he had to sleep with his e tool because of the threats he got from every other black man in the barracks.
I know several Asians that were in the military and they said Asians get it the worse because there are so few of them to stick up for each other. Plus a lot of guys from the rural areas never seen Asians before.
