You support them until somebody on TV mistakenly accuses them of committing war crimes they were victims of, then you will take the side of the cheerleaders rather than the actual troops. Trust me, they don't need that kind of support.

I am proud of my service and I'm glad I did it. That doesn't take away from the fact that in my experience, a percentage (greater than I expected) of enlisted men and women are pretty dumb. It's my opinion, I stated in that thread why I felt it was that way, and I'm entitled to it. You have no basis from which to support or refute my opinion because you chose a different path. A path that consists of whining and b****ing and eating cheese puffs. I never personally attacked you, I was backing up my initial opinion. I said that I felt most of the people that support the war seem to be all talk and no follow through. Once again, my opinion. Also, when I made that statement, it was in response to ROXRAN our resident Militia Boy Scout. Then you piped in about how I'm using a liberal tactic. mc mark quipped about you being rejected and I said you didn't have the balls to even try to join. I was right. It's not my fault that you are a coward. Maybe you can blame it on mommy and daddy for getting divorced and not hugging you enough. That's what most people do these days. The reporting for duty and pic was a joke. Its also not my fault that you have no sense of humor. Good thing you didn't enlist because you would NEVER be able to put up with all of the **** talking. I can only imagine what your chain of command would think the first time you dropped a "well, he started it". LOL
I have written a number of things here that I regret. I regret my disproportionate response to MB's attacks and snark. And I especially regret what I said in that post. Previously I said I would leave the BBS, but I later changed my mind. (Feel free to say that I simply lied. I won't agrue with it.) Now, I believe it would be best for me to leave, but I must admit the place is addictive, even with all the rancor. I've seen a lot of the things I believe in trashed here without mercy. Yeah, I know, my side does it too. But here those who oppose what I believe dominate and sometimes it feels like my beliefs are being trashed at every angle in this place. My patience and my civility ran dry a long time ago. That's probably too melodramatic, but there it is. I hope your gigs go well this weekend.
Well, thanks for the explanation. And yes, this place is addictive. I banished myself, with Clutch's blessing, during the rancor following the 2000 Presidential Election. I was back within two weeks. Yep.....this place is "tie me off and shoot me up" addictive like black tar heroin. Clutch is the pusherman! The reason "those who oppose what I believe dominate" can be found in 99% of the opinion polls taken these days. A majority of Americans no longer support the war in Iraq, and a majority of Americans are not happy with the current President's performance. This BBS reflects that, that's all. If you hung out at a BBS geared towards those who support the President's policies and the war in Iraq, you might feel more comfortable. But it's entirely up to you as to where you want to hang out on the Internet. You're an adult, and you are free to make your own choices. And thanks for the good wishes on the gigs.
