As much as y'all hate Eminem (I do too, though I find his music mildly amusing), this movie is probably going to be pretty good. It's not like this is just some crappy Eminem vehicle messily thrown together by some Hollywood studio. It has a top of the line director behind it. It's hard for me to imagine Curtis Hanson, the guy who made one of the best movies of the past decade in L.A. Confidential, making a bad movie. I'm definitely going to see it! I'm sure Eminem is probably good in it, but this is most likely a one-time thing. I don't see him becoming an "actor."
I've heard good things about 8 Mile. But I'll probably just wait until it comes to video to see it. As a native Detroiter, I'm interested to see how they portray my home city (not kindly, I suspect). Both sets of my grandparents lived less than a mile from the fearsome 8 Mile Rd. so I may see some familiar sites onscreen. Oh, and Trader "There is nothing I loathe more than seeing abosolute morons being elevated to celebrity status and having their opinions respected" Jorge -- sounds to me like you're just jealous because "the market" has decided Eminem contributes more to society than you do.
I have no problem saying that Eminem contributes more value to the 'market' than I do. Millions of people buy his garbage, only a handful listen to my financial analysis. Fair is fair.
took my wife and 2 year old son to see Veggie Tales Jonah last night.... my son said it was "off the hook".
Did your son sit thru the whole thing? I was thinking of taking my 2 year old to see it but I fear he would just start running around all crazy like... I would probably have to put him on a chain CK
I kinda/sorta wanna see it, but then I don't wanna shell out $8.75 for a ticket and find it to be a boring, waste of time. I think I'll wait for the video.
I forgot to mention that there is no need to mock that one poster guy. I thought it was kinda rude and stuff, but you guys, do what you guys do.
I doubt I'll see it, though it certainly looks better than the movie Britney Spears made. I think it looks too melodramatic.
he sat in my lap for most of the movie...stood up and danced during the musical scenes...there was no one else in the theater so it didn't matter that he was loud from time to time...but he laughed a lot at it and really enjoyed it...
I am definitely going friday. Mr. conservative right-wing republican is actually a HUGE eminem fan. I think the dude is brilliant. He makes **** rhyme that shouldn't rhyme. He is very talented at selecting the words in his songs. My wife and I will both be at the first show tomorrow. PS-I took my boy (he's soon to be 6) to see Scooby doo. He said, "Dad, that was the muh f4ckin' dopest fly **** I ever saw!! Did you see that muh f4ckin' dog and ****? Daaaaaaamn! I was like, f4ckin' dog gonna be all up in the bling bling with the mad jack he goa make from this flick"
