Yet he can still draw his fouls and he can still set up the offense and pass very well. Aaron Brooks is not a Point guard, just a shooting guard in a point guard's body.

Aaron Brooks has no rights even being in the NBA. I'd rather have Brent Barry and Von Wafer play PG over this guy for crying out loud.

That just about says all anyone needs to know about your basketball knowledge.

If you want people to take you seriously you've got to stop saying stuff like this, man.

Exactly. That is a complete nonsense. Brooks is probably even better than Wafer. Just put Von on the PG (impossible) and our team has no asists in game 3.

Thanks for replying, didn't get "wh eldridge recasner and a scrub named e-mail". I agree that your view point of whose fault it is as to why Yao doesn't get the ball depends whether you hate Yao or not. He get's the ball fine when he's played straight up like most of the centers in the league but he does have trouble catching lob passes when fronted because of physical limitations, the lob has to be perfect for it not to result in a TO. That wasn't the point of the video, most of those plays he was not fronted, just missed opportunities to get the ball into him. Making a video about getting him the ball in Game 2 was picking the wrong game anyway, he wasn't effective not because they couldn't get him the ball but because he was sitting because of foul trouble.

You shouldn't just look at raw FG%. Raw FG% ignores the impact of the 3 ball.

Brooks actually had a higher AFG% than Lowry and was right below Derrick Rose and Andre Miller: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/stati...e=nba&split=0&season=2009&seasontype=2&pos=pg

If Brooks even slightly improves his shot selection and ability to finish around the basket, he could be among the more efficient scoring PGs in the league.

What makes Lowry dangerous on offense is his ability to draw fouls and get to the line. His PPS (points per shot) was among the elite in the league. He also has a good mid-range game.

Brooks is not good at getting the ball to Yao and that may prompt a trade sooner than later. I do think Brooks can be an effective scoring PG off the bench for a lot of teams. I'd be interested to see how he develops in a more uptempo, perimeter-oriented offense. No other team in the league faces the challenges of running an offense centered around an immobile big man.

I'm sorry Aaron Brooks doesn't make you happy. It's almost like you saying It's all Yao's fault and not Aaron Brooks fault. You don't see me saying stuff like that do you?

I have no respect for Brooks and I never did. He is our team's most inconsistent player. I'll take 1 Kyle Lowry over 10, because at least that One Kyle Lowry would be able to pass it to Yao, and those 10 Aaron Brooks would just jack up a contested 3.

Really? Were going to base who takes better shot selections off free throws? You do know the formula includes FTM's don't you?

Brooks is nothing special, just a shooter. He can't move without the ball, can't play defense, can't run an offense. Just a speck of dirt to me. Aaron Brooks is a below average finisher even for his size he's below averaging at finishing around the rim because almost 80% of the time he ends up getting blocked.

I'll take a smart PG that knows how to run an offense and try fouls that a dumb shooting guard who can't run an offense in a point guard's body.

    Fixed up a bit

There is no argument that on rare occasions Rockets players(all of them not named Yao since he can't throw it to himself) can fail to make a pass into Yao when he is not fronted and appears to have good position.

But of the 4 plays shown, only one of those plays were capable of being made by normal NBA passers. Another might have been successful by players like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, or Tracy McGrady.

Granted Brooks made another bad play, but that bad play was not shooting the open shot when he was wide open. But nobody seems to be making that complaint, at least not the ones taking this video at face value.

The fault lies in ALL of the Rockets players. I believe I said just that earlier in this thread.

Deflecting ALL the blame from one source does not automatically place it on another.

:D As most of the Yao-lovers come from China, most of the Yao-haters are from China, too...

Just leave them alone, argue with them is useless....

anyway, I never said AB is a worse player than Lowry, but he is kinda much more brainless, much more selfish(maybe?), and definitely too much dribbling!!

But there is one point that AB is kinda too short that he cann't see Yao.... :D

It's called hyperbole, AB definitely has deficiencies running the point, can anyone argue that his passing skills are below average and Lowry is the better playmaker. Morey is on record saying if it was up to him, Lowry would be the starting PG but it's Adelmans decision. AB needs to improve in the playmaking area and get better at that entry pass into Yao or Lowry may be the starter next season.

Saying Yao Ming has flaws and not allowing all blame for those flaws to fall on OTHERS does not make anyone a Yao Hater.

And I have never been to China, much like most of the Rockets fans on this site.

    AFG%: Adjusted FG Percentage = [(PTS - FTM)/FGA]/2
ADJFG% measures shooting efficiency by taking into account the total points a player produces through his field goal attempts. The intention of this adjustment is largely to evaluate the impact of three-point shooting.

    And it subtracts FTM.

What's a point guard's job? To run an offense, to smooth things out, to direct an offense and to lead the team to run their sets correct? I don't see Aaron Brooks any of that at all. Trust me, If Rafer Alston were here and he do the same garbage that Aaron is currently doing, It would also be his fault. But that's the difference between those two. Rafer knew how to run an offense and always fed the ball to Yao. Aaron? Not even remotely close.

Gary Payton even said at one point that you have to give some blame to Aaron Brooks for not directing the offense correctly after Game 2 in the Rockets-Blazers game, when Yao also failed to receive the ball and had 6 shots in the game I believe.

I'm pretty sick and tired of Aaron getting a free pass because he's in his 2nd year in the league, while Kyle Lowry has been playing with a bunch of scrubs his whole NBA career and never played with an elite post player and he's about 50x smarter than Aaron Brooks will ever be in his life.

Lowry has been getting blocked more in less MPG during the playoffs.

And that "speck of dirt" comment was way unnecessary. In my worst criticisms of Alston, I never made a single comment like that.

You should listen to Gary Payton more. Even though he doesn't get to watch the Rockets all that much, he is correct. Some of the blame lies with Brooks. But where does the rest lie?? Artest?? Scola??? Yao??? Global Warming??? George W Bush??

Also, Aaron is not asked to be CP3 or Deron Williams for this team. Rick Adelman's offense does not require that. Aaron is required to shoot the open shot when its there(and he failed to take a few of those shots in gm 2) and also attack with penetration.

That's a pretty small simple size considering the fact that Aaron got at LEAST one or two shots blocked per game in the regular season.

Has Lowry been better than Brooks in the playoffs? No, nobody is saying that. Would Lowry and Yao be a better combination than AB and Yao? Heck Yes. And that's pretty much my point.

I'd rather have the PG that knows how to run an offense and get the ball to the best center in the NBA than a guy who prefers shooting contested 3's instead of getting the ball to the low-post center. It's just the best for this team, I don't know why Adelman doesn't understand. But The fault is more on Brooks if It's on anybody. You can also blame the lack of spacing as well because Adelman even said the offense was stagnant.

When you make hyperbole to be funny, its all in good fun. Clutch made some FUNNY hyperbole on Rafer over the years, and it was funny. But this animosity is the stuff of stolen girlfriends, cheating best friends, and backstabbing buddies. I mean, I really dont understand this kind of hatred.

I probably did take it too far. Even so, he has been frustrating the hell out of me. I knew when this guy was going to take over the starting position from the start, Yao was/is going to have trouble getting the ball in the low-post because Aaron Brooks is one of the worst passers in the league along with the worst brains in the league.

Listen, I'm not saying this guy is some bum that is lucky. All I'm saying is he cannot co-exist with Yao Ming and he's our franchise player. I was taking those comments too far, I agree, but I have hardly any respect for AB what so ever.
