lol man r u trying to support bukman's argument or what? cos what u've said does not help his argument...he listed a huge number of players that were unable to pass yao the ball, hence implying that a typical player does not have the ability to pass yao the ball effectively. but u came out randomly and says all those guys were crap and not legit players....so wat u saying dude?? I said our perimeter passers were all too crap to have any idea how to pass yao the ball, and obv u seem to agree with me...whether u intended to or not

that list was all journeymen or dleague players...john lucas III??????? r u kidding???moochie norris??? haha I heard yao used to put his shoes on the top of the rim so he couldn't get them.........

dumping the ball to yao and first round exits??? man r u gonna ever be more logical than a pig.........did we have scola? did we have landry??? did we have artest??

I fail to see why the spot on the floor where you are posting up matters much. You are arguing a few feet at most. If it is 1 foot from teh low block, or 3 feet from the low block. Its STILL offensive player holding off the defender who is on his back or side.

And you still accuse me of not watching the game???

You seem to be more and more obsessed with arguing for the sake of argument. Was anyone ever fronting Ron?

Funny thing is you made a list of past Rockets players and claim they all had trouble to make entry pass to Yao Ming, so the main fault is on Yao. Look at your own list, geez,

Since when did Jon Berry have trouble to pass to Yao? Since when did Bowen need to make entry passes? Since when did Mobley want to pass to anyone? Since when did John Lucas 3 ever see the floor? Since when did Von ever pass to anyone? Since when did Lowry have problem to pass to Yao or play off Yao?

I don't understand you, what you are trying to accomplish with such a long list of false premises? Yao averages 3 plus turnovers every game, but he's still a basketball player with high efficiency. AB's assists to turnover ration isn't something to be proud of. According to you, in so many threads, he's reluctant that Yao might turn it over if he passes. I will let you find your own logical fallacy.

Reading comprehension. He meant that your poiint about them being traded was moot. IT doesnt matter that they still arent here. That list was wing passers for the Rockets not named Shane Battier, Tracy McGrady, and Ron Artest.

WTF are you talking about. You are essentially saying Shane has the same decision making ability as AB. WTF. It's really pointless with argue with you guys.

You guys made it sounds like Yao should automatically receive the ball whenever he is open, it's not as simple as it looks on the video. The ball handler is constant under pressure from his defender, so the first priority is not to lose the ball, AND THEN keep his options open, namely, shooting/passing/dribbling, that's easy said than done when everyone knows you want to pass the ball to the post, and the defender is constantly pressure you.

Since Yao is very slow, and not good at keeping his defender behind him, the pass goes to him has to be crispy, it cannot be a lob, or a bounce, or even a soft curve pass. It has to be quick & direct, right into his chest. Unfortunately, Brooks is too short to make that pass over defender's head, so he either uses bounce, or soft curve, which ofter results a TO, that's why he was always hesitating to pass Yao the ball.

The Rockets' hope to beat LA is not with Yao getting the ball, score 20+ points, but on Brooks to be aggressive AND make the right decision at the same time, it's about him getting into the lane to open up for everyone else. Brooks has the quickness to get by any Lakers, and also the shooting touch to pull the defenders out of the lane, it's just his lack of aggression prevent him from being successful last game. On the other hand, Lowry is more aggressive, and attacks the basket more, but he is just not quick enough to get by defenders as Brooks does, and his shooting is not good either.

If we can only combine Lowry's aggression with Brooks' quickness & shooting, the Rockets has an excellent chance to beat those guys.

My list had nothing to do with fronting. My take on Artest did not involve fronting.

My point is I tire of people bashing Rockets players over the last 8 years complaining about not being able to make a difficult entry pass into Yao. I havent made a false premise. The false premise is to assume that its an easy task to get the ball into Yao, fronted or not. Yet when other Rockets players playing with the SAME entry passers go down low they have no trouble getting the ball. Did Juwan Howard have any trouble getting the ball to post up??

    WTF.

Any Sane person would admit If you can move around and further out to receive the ball, it would be easier. Plus the defense would not put as much effort in denying the ball.

No, I am saying being hesitant is bad. NO matter who it is.

    "What were you thinking?"

"You don't have time to think out there. If you think, you're dead."

So Shane backs his man down that extra 4 feet after receiving the pass before attempting his hook shot in the middle of the lane?? I seem to recall he just takes a dribble to get the defender moving and counters with the hook.

7 yrs later and no one can pass to yao. Meanwhile a rookie pg in sa can get to duncan, a gunner like nve can get it to shaq, diirk minifield and winston garland can get it to dream and the 5'10 jameer nelson can get it to howard, yet, the rox need magic johnson to get yao the ball.

The Juwan argument is very bad... Juwan wasn't a franchise player like Yao, and Juwan never receive the same attention from the other teams as Yao... It's pointless to use a average NBA player to compare to Yao, who usally demand double team or triple team...

Er......so Juwan's man did not want to play good D because he wasnt a franchise player?? Why do I get the picture of Jerry Sloan yelling at Milsap for not trying during the 07 play-offs.

Oh, he has gotten it down low as well. Only one Rocket has trouble getting the ball in the post.

    Uhh dude..Reading comprehesion. for yourself.

I did not mention whatsoever about trading anyone...wat r u smokin man

Note, where is Rafer Alston? Rafer did not have any noticeable troubles when giving entry passes into the post to Yao.

And from the video it seems like Aaron is totally incapable of passing to yao properly...in fact he did not even ATTEMPT to pass to yao on numerous occasions, even when yao was reposting and totally expecting to get the ball back...

if our PG cannot even pass the ball to the focus of our offense...then what can he do? dribble for 20 secs and chuck up a shot or pass it to someone else for a last second heave??? no thanks

if aaron cannot pass to yao, then yao cannot be involved in the offense...if you only wanted a put back machine we would be fine with samuel dalembert.

oh and you forgot kyle lowry...

He has been. But then again, you are comparing a player with the best BB IQ since Larry Bird and 7-8 years worth of NBA starts to Aaron Brooks who just now passed up the half-a-season's worth of starts.
