It's supposed to be his back, right? if it's his back, and it's been injured/re-injured, then the knee becomes moot. And we are royally ****ed.

    I hope this isn't the prognosis. :(

This is BS. Shoot him up with some cortisone and send him back in.

Looks like Sura's mutant healing factor is going to get yet another big test. Damn.

    Cortisone only helps with inflammation.

If this is another herniated disc... or even worse... a compression fracture, then there's really not much that cortisone is going to do for you.

Besides... he's probably so hopped up from all the other cortisone injections he's taking for his knee... that soon he'll be in serious danger of developing Cushing's syndrome.

It's terrible news. Sura has been our leader on the court. We can't win much without him.

Break up whatever part that Sura has problem with, use some alcohol to clean it up, then tape them back up, and put him back in the game!!!!

Damn! Just when I thought I started really liking our chances for a championship this year, this happens! IT'S ALL SURA'S FAULT!

    Sobbing...

    Sura my man, we need you... :( :( :( :( :(

I have a very bad feeling Sura is done. Back injuries are bad news and if he is flying to see the doctor who did his procedure over the summer, that is NOT good.

:( Sura is the Heart and soul of this team. He was the x-factor.

We need his do-everything mentality out there. His rbs...his assists....and his scoring threat. Man, I was so hyped up for this game tonight. And then I learned the news.

I don't think the media is going to feel so good about the Rockets now. Like the FOX article that claimed how we are a contender, and one of the main points was that Sura has made us what we are.

    .....:( Get well soon. Please.

Does Sura have an overweight BIG girl fetish or something?

What the heck is wrong with his back when he gets 5 days of rest.
During rest time your suppose to heal and recoup not get injured or aggravate an existing injury.

I thought all this time he had the knee swelling problem, the back injury was summertime, No?

Well it sux that he's out and we lose a close game like this night but it really does highlight a problem with this team that is inherit of our policy over this summer, no 8 or 10 game winning streak can mask for long the problems of old age.

A number of members of this squad based on probability are highly susceptible to injury other than sura. It's just the price you pay
    for having

A youthful primary and over the prime secondary.

To give up a first round pick (much needed youth) for an over the hill dinosuar in Payton is going to delay this team's championship ambitions. Say no to anymore 35s and >

Yeah, this back injury is strange. Nobody was talking about his back, it was his knee that was supposed to be a problem. He didn't exhibit any problems with his back that I saw, his back problem could only be from some kind of traumatic injury that he sustained during the break. It would be interesting to see whats reported in the press.

Sura out with pain in his back
Rockets guard to be examined by doctor in L.A.

Rockets point guard Bob Sura missed Tuesday's 87-85 loss to Seattle because of soreness in his back and won't return to the lineup any time soon.

The Rockets said the injury was in the same area where Sura had October disk surgery, which caused him to miss the first 14 games of the season. Coach Jeff Van Gundy said Sura would be out "a significant amount of time."

Sura, who practiced Monday but reported soreness on Tuesday, had an MRI. He will be examined today in Los Angeles by Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the surgery on Oct. 21.

"He's going to be out an extended period of time. How much I don't know," Van Gundy said. "It's not just spasms or anything like that.

"He's been a very significant player. His presence on the court made us significantly better, obviously. At the same time, we have more than enough to win with. We need to make up for his penetration, his rebounding and his passion."

Sura, 31, is averaging 10.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game and has been a big part of the Rockets' resurgence following a slow start.

With Sura out, Rod Strickland started at point guard Tuesday, with Andre Barrett and Jon Barry coming off the bench. The injury also took away the flexibility of using David Wesley against the SuperSonics' point guards because of Barrett and Strickland's lack of size.

"Because of our point guard situation, we can't afford to play David on the point guards (as often) now because he's going to have to guard the twos," Van Gundy said. "We don't have as much flexibility."

Here are the last 5 games played so far for Sura.

    32, 34, 39, 38, and 39

    10, 12, 9, 7, and 12

The first row is the minutes. The 2nd row is for rebounds.

What the heck did Sura do in Vegas to make him mess his back up that badly, so that he cannot even contribute a single bit on the court?

If he's gonna be out for a while, might as well kill two birds with one stone and have surgery on his knee as well.
