    From what I heard on the radio Deke wanted to play at least one more year (and with the Rox). So that sounded like he is open to the Vet minimum. Maybe he is afraid the Rox will go with a younger player as backup to Yao and he doesn't want to play elsewhere. I think if someone offered Deke their LLE we could easily match using the early bird rights. There are only a few teams that would spend some of their MLE on him, teams expecting to do battle with Miami next year in the playoffs. Detroit, Indy maybe. The list is very short. We might be able to get him at the vet minimum. Maybe maybe no.

    Just for fun...

    I was heavily in favor of bringing in Deke, btw... :)

    On paper Shaq/Alonzo would be better than Yao/Deke.

    But Yao and Dikembe are awesome! I will be very happy if we resign him. He makes such a big impact. FINGER-WAG!!!

    I'd much prefer Yao/Mutombo over Shaq/Zo. Can't you see Shaq was aging so fast last season that he could barely play at the end of season and Zo's running on one kidney and can break down any minute now. Their pair is gonna run out of gas next season.

    Yup Yao is still getting better. Dikembe will be gone soon..please resign him another year. He saved us and helped us come back in so many games. He like helps us gain momentum through his DEFENSE! :) But he will retire soon..a guy like Hunter or Blount can replace him..or sign a young center. :)

    JB definitely Jon Barry should be resigned. He was great off the bench. He provides energy...I guess Wesley will be gone..replaced by Head. And James will be gone too to give Head more playing time..and maybe we can trade them to get a good 2/3 or 4

    Was there ever any doubt?

    Mutombo found a perfect fit, I just assumed he'd be back.

    Were there rumours to the contrary flitting round Texas, evading buckshot and low lying fighter jets?

    Thanks.

    Depends on schedule, of course.

    But I appreciate the comment.

    Totally disagreed. Yao & Deke are better combo than Shaq/Mourning considering both of them are significantly declined and they will be much worse in the next season.

    Somewhere between the moon and New York city, my friend.

    But it's good to be back.

    WHo has fallen by the wayside in my absence? Is Pops around?

    I'll admit I was wrong about him. I'd love to have him for an another year.

    {By the way Vescey - we're you shocked about Fleer?}
