its clear yao is a better player with the ball under the basket just like its clear steve francis is most effective dribbling the ball and taking it to the basket. its also clear that yao hasn't been able to get out of the first round that way. maybe we need to try something different that gets the most efficiency for the team. Yao being great is great but the results haven't been.
agreed. hopefully RA just concentrated on the perimeter stuff in pre-season since its a new approach. i think we'll see more post up Yao sets in regular season.
I was just joking, mimicking all the people who start the over-the-top criticism way too early. If the Rockets lose tonight, I bet we will see more JVG vs. Adelman threads. I like moving Yao out occasionally to open up things for other guys like TMac and James to drive to the basket and get easier shots. But then I remember how we won the first 2 championships- pounding the ball to Hakeem. It didn't work for a while, but eventually with the right mix of guys and enough playoff experience they broke through. How often did Shaq play outside the paint during his championships? Im not to familiar with the triangle.
i agree, just keep on dumping it into yao, adelman was saying something like 1/3 of his touches should be on the perimeter. we'll see how far that program will go. i can see it working against phoenix, i don't know though, anything other than what happened last year against the suns would be better. in almost all other cases, it would probably be a wise decision to pound it into yao.
Explain. Why should the Rockets' former coach's interview in which he discusses the Rockets be moved to another forum?
he plays outside like 15% of the game in the triangle. he actually initiates some plays under the triangle and open up the space for kobe. that's all i want yao to do when he gets out there - open up the space for tmac. i still remember those shaq to kobe alley-oops. beautiful. yao-tmac will get some of those.
LMFAO, I know right! Lots of those JVG haters don't realize that these two coaches are very similar. Honestly, I'd be very surprised if people don't complain about RA not developing rookies.
Wait until we give up 100 points a few games in a row. Then we'll see the DEEFNSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS posts. The bottom line is RA and JVG are good coaches. It's on the players. T-Mac and Yao need to take it to a brand new level.
ya I loved JVG, he can act too. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bwfbWDL2zp0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bwfbWDL2zp0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
He's great at interviews and he's also a great analysis, a defensive mastermind, although a bit lackluster on the offensive end and unwilling to adjust to players with bad attitudes, and it seems that he can be a good actor too, what else is there need to be read about the thread?
