Who cares the guy can flat out play...He is an ALL-Star its just his mouth that keeps the votes away !!!!! Its like Barkley I couldn't stand his fat ass until he became a Rocket and I automaticaly Loved him, even named by English Bulldog Barkley !! The Rockets need a little thug on the team !! BRING RASHEED ON !!!!!!!!! Instant CHAMPS 2007-2008 !!
i think he's talking about chris wilcox. Wilcox is young and athletic, and has the potential to be an all star next to yao. ive read the rumors trades between seattle and houston, so i think itll be wilcox. with rashard being a free agent, batter can be traded to seattle in return for wilcox and maybe a 2nd rd pick
Personally I'm not too high on Darko. I realy dont think he has the rebounding and interior presence that this team really needs. He would be a upgrade, but in my opinion not the type of player I was hoping for. Chris Wilcox really is the type of PF I would prefer.
it's time to put the defensive responsibiilty on tmac more and more. if we can get wilcox for battier, do it. we have bonzi and snyder now. battier is not that valuable, esp. in the playoffs.
Do that and the Head/Cook trade? PG James/Spanoulis/Alston SG Wells/Snyder SF McGrady/Novak/Reed PF Wilcox/Hayes/Cook C Yao/Mutombo/2nd round pick Well it certainly looks better with James and Wilcox starting instead of guys like Alston, Hayes, Howard, although Wilcox for Battier seems like a trade Seattle wins, same with Head/Cook with the Lakers winning. But I think it's a more balanced roster, it probably gets them past round 1, Head and Battier are luxuries you need to win titles, great perimeter D in Battier and outside clutch shooting off the bench in Head. But those things can be added easier than adding a decent PF finally. Wilcox isn't great, but he's decent.
The only thing about adding Battier to Seatle is......arent they gonna give Kevin Durant lots of time at SF? He seems to feed their need for replacing Rashard. Would Battier there be a cluster of SF's? I know they are high on the Gelebale too. Hmmmmmm.....
Here is a possible scenerio I pulled: Battier Head 26th pick for Wilcox Gelebale 31st pick 35th pick This trade works under RealGM. This gives us a chance to lock up the PF spot with Wilcox and Hayes. It also gives us 2 early 2nd rounders that we could use on Glen Davis and possibly getting Morris Almond. We also add some more talent at the SF with Gelebale. That would be the best case scenerio in my mind. PG James/Alston/VSpan SG Mcgrady/Snyder SF Bonzi/Gelebale/Novak PF Wilcox/Hayes/Davis C Yao/Deke
No frigging way. Sacramento was reported turning down the Heats offer of Haslem and Jason Williams, thinking they can get better value elsewhere and you think the #26 Sura and Rafer or Snyder are going to get it done. Hah, hah
Going by recent drafts (Spanoulis & Eliyahu) would Gianluca Pascucci the Rocket international scout be the most experienced and influential scout after Dennis Lindsey? I think in Lindsey's blog on the Rockets website he mentioned being in Europe a couple of months ago with one one of the teams he was scouting being Tau, Tiago Splitter's team. Earlier this month Lindsey & Morey were reportedly in Italy scouting Belinelli I would assume.
You are mistaken, JVG forced the starters back into play in the fourth quarter so that we could barely beat MINI -- just for his ego sake and to prove that he was in command- JVG lost us our pick !! We had nothing to gain by it but made a serious mistake. Many committeed by JVG while he was here coaching in Houston.
Hmmm...Stromile Swift? He's "near" an all-star in Pau Gasol. We're reacquiring all of the players we traded away...Yao demands it.
Is Darryl Morey the next Scott Layden? Remember Layden going to the Knicks and bringing everyone with any connection to Utah? (Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, Doleac, etc..) So far Morey's only moves have been for two Boston guys (Mike James, Justin Reed), if we are getting Sean Williams, I will start to really wonder... I have a really bad hunch about this Wiliams guy... Eddie Griffin looke like a choir boy coming out of Seton Hall compared to him... And from what I have read, we are not talking a Roy Tarpley/Len Bias type of talent either...
I really really like the idea of trading Battier for Gerlad Wallace. We'd have to throw something in (future pick?) to adjust for the difference in age, but other than that I think it would be a great deal for both teams. The Bobcats can use that kind of veteran presence. Battier would play huge minutes between the 2/3, mentoring Morrison in the process. Wallace fits in with us because he's quicker, but is a little more able to play PF than Battier. Having him split time between the 3 and 4 allows us to free up time at the 2/3 for Bonzi, T-Mac, Head and Snyder. Adelman brought Wallace into the league too. I think he'd like to play here. It doesn't net us a starting full-time 4, but someone who can be extremely effective for 15-20 minutes at PF in Rick Adelman's system. We could then looking at adding someone through free agency who can play the 4/5. Is Magliore an FA? I would love to have this line up: Yao/Magliore Hayes/Wallace/Magliore (don't care who starts really) T-Mac/Wallace Bonzi/Head Alston/James Although I would seriously think about starting James over Alston because the starters lack a 3pt threat. Wallace for James. He's a borderline All Star, can play the 4 at times, fits into our system... I would even package Battier plus our pick for Wallace.
I think the Wizards may be another possible option. See http://blog.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/2007/06/draft_day_nears_1.html. A reporter for the Washington Post believes that the Wizards will draft for backcourt depth and speculates that they may consider trading down. I could see us targeting Thaddeus Young. I think one of the Chronicle articles over the weekend mentioned that Morey is hoping to nab someone who falls out of the top-15. Thaddeus Young is the only one of the forwards you've mentioned who is projected to go that high. Personally, I'd like to see us pick up McRoberts, but McRoberts may be a little risky to trade up for, given questions about his attitude and defense.
I like this idea, which is not impossible if Orlando decides to renounce him to sign Rashard. We could then offer him a MLE max years deal, without giving up any players (i.e. Battier). Of course, if Rashard threatens to sign with Orlando, maybe Seattle will do a Rashard sign and trade with us in exchange for Battier/Sura, as opposed to getting nothing in return if he bolts to Orlando.
I think it's either the Lakers or Philly for their 21st pick.I thought about the Wizards too but somehow I feel they might target a frontcourt player because of the problems with Thomas and Haywood. If they are targeting a backcourt player who might not be available when they pick it's possible to see them trade down with the Rockets.
Sura's contract is the ace in the hole. If there is a move up (or down for a contracted big) then it (and Luther and/or Little Luke and/or Snyder) is the delivering chip. For example, Cleveland wants a #1 and to be rid of Damon then Sura/Rafe #26 = Varejao? I'd be all over that. And we're less than 72 hours from saying ta ta to BS3.
