This near All-Star quote thing ... I'd hate to see it get taken out of context. I would say Morey made it clear that that was the ideal scenario rather than what they have in store right now.

one of atlantas PFs? Lorenzen Wright, Shelden Williams? trade rafer + future 2nd or something for em.

gerald wallace is one of my top picks but he will probably command more than the MLE easily.

I have said Shelden all along. Wright is washed up. Gerald Wallace would be ideal if battier is traded, but yes, he is looking for more than the MLE with his defensive resume.

Out of all of these guys, I would want David West the most, but I dont think the Hornets would give him up very easily.

I really like what Morey is saying, and what he is doing.

High hopes for next year assuming we can get a decent PF.

Over Okafor, Al Jefferson and josh smith?. as i said earlier, the hornets will not part with him cheaply, but that dosent make him any better then the 3 guys i named earlier. i'll even take lee over him. the only realistic option out of that list is gooden.

my guess for near allstar power forward who could be available and - surprisingly - no one has brought up yet is boris diaw. he's the odd man out in phoenix now with amare being full strength, kurt thomas providing some beef and james jones needing more minutes. his production went down last year as a result of that.

as for what we could offer them (phoenix), without checking realgm, we could offer battier and our pick (26) in exchange for diaw and their pick (24).

this way we move a couple spots and pick up a versatile power forward. they get another perimeter defender to compliment bell & marion (who may end up traded anyhow). throw in whatever filler to make it happen (phoenix might actually be able to use rafer as a backup, in order to move barbosa to the 2 spot?).

I would hardly use the word "power" to describe anything about Diaw's game. He's 6'8 at best, and he's never been a good to even adequate rebounder. He's got a nice all around floor game and could help, but there is nothing power about his game. We need someone to help wipe off the glass adn shot block. Yao just doesn't seem to be able to rebound balls that are outside of his wingspan or immediate grabbing area. Plus I don't see Diaw holding down Garnett, Duncan, Amare or anyone like that.

Diaw is a nice player, but I don't think he's the PF the Rockets should be looking for. I'm still on board to draft Sean Williams, get his head on straight and then teach that talent how to play.

We don't technical foul sheed here. He is one of the players possible to get. His techs cost the pistons a championship.

I'm more interested to know which team(s) the Rockets have an agreement with. Clippers (#14) if Acie Law isn't available? Detroit (#15) if Rodney Stuckey isn't available? Those are maybe a touch high. Lakers (#19) if Wilt Chamberlain isn't available? 76ers (#21) could be a good bet since they have two other first round picks (#12 and #30).

And who is the target in a move-up? I'm going to assume a four, though I'm not sure that's a 100% safe assumption. Jason Smith, Josh McRoberts, Sean Williams, Thaddeus Young?

I do think Almond will be available but I'd rather pick Affalo over him. Picking up Fazekas and Davis #26 is too early... maybe if we buy an early 2nd round pick.

Al Thornton is worth trading up for. Tweeners can really slide in a deep draft class and Thornton has future 6th Man of the Year written all over him. I'd prefer to trade up for a face-up specialist like Thornton and know we are going to get something out of that pick. Adelman mentioned our need to get players who can break down defenses off the dribble and that's exactly what Thornton does.

Possible, but you're assuming we're talking a trade up to early teen range and guessing it's him because he's fairly NBA-ready. Someone who doesn't know would read your post and think you had information to share.
