Why would we want a guy who can't even stand up to his own wife??

    Cold, I know.

Jason Kidd is on the block. Why? Management thinks his wife will cause a distraction not just to kidd, but to the whole team.

I think Kidd would be very good on this team. I know we dont need a real playmaking pg, but kidd can do more than that. he can finish at the basket, play very good defense, and rebound. All three traits rafer does not posess.

    There are no trade.

Mrs Kidd screwed up the nets and Mr. Kidds needs all the cash he can get to settle the case. The Nets buy him out and Mr. Kidds comes to Houston to get a ring for the minimum.....

    :D :D

That's a lot of salary to take on for a guy with a bum knee, fixing to turn 34.

Contracts dont matter. We are over the cap for at least the next 4 years anyways. Who cares about money? We arent writing the luxury tax check...

And now we know why you're a rook. The aforementioned mock trade, truly defines your basketball IQ. You only trade a superstar and exchange with another superstar either of similar age and of course, more complimentary skills. Not an aging superstar.

I seriously doubted the allegation about Joumana using her son to rummage his father's locker looking for clues.

There's no way he can peek into his dad's locker, have you ever seen the size of his head?

Unless we deal TMac or Yao, I believe a trade is almost impossible.

after reading thru 4 pages of non-sense and people posting out of their behind. most of you are BB fans, but have little knowledge or appreciation on managing a team. I totally agreed with above poster on his view and similiar to my view with the situation.

We are in serious need of a PG that can split at least half of alston PT. alston is not a starter PG that can carry is thru the playoffs run. We lack depth in our PG position. sure, tmac can be our "pg" in the half court setting, but that asking too much and putting too much pressure and duty in one single player. the opponent team will only need to focus on tmac and game is over.

Second position we need is a decent pf/c backup type player, which we will need in playoffs if Yao's in foul trouble. deke is great but we need a replcement for him soon. not sure if he will have any gas left in his tank for playoffs time.

Is Kidd available? should we acquire him? Nets is planning to move to brooklyn, NY and try to take some of the profit share from the knicks. Their owner is trying to sell the team. dumping high salary players like vince and kidd is only going to benefit the team and attracts protential buyers. Vince is leaving next season, richardson is hurt more than he realized, and kidd well he needs a new home.

Is he a risk for us to take, hell yeah. But with guards like terry, parker, and nash. do you think alston is ready for the challenge?

I didn't know the nets were for sale, I'm pretty sure Rattner wants to hold on to them in order to be the centerpiece of his Atlantic Yards development.

I've always been big about fit and chemistry, which was why I was doubtful about the Bonzi and Snyder signings in the first place.

But in this case, fit or not, when Jason Kidd is available, you GET him, no matter what it takes. Give them Bonzi, Rafer, Novak or whatever. Just don't touch the PFs and Luther and 1+11. Because our PF situation is already thin as it is, and the other 3, well those are no brainers.

We're in a win now mode. With a lineup of Kidd-Tmac-Battier-Hayes/Howard-Yao, we're definitely right up there among the legit contenders.

Kidd is 34, but at 34, he is still a very decent defender, an excellent rebounder at the PG spot, an excellent distributor, and an adequate 3-point shooter. Besides, Kidd's game is very adaptible. The knock on him used to be that his half-court skills aren't as sharp as his open-court skills, and I agree. I'd argue that Rafer can organise a half-court set better than Kidd can, but his vision and passing ability is just unparalleled here, other than Nash.

Difference is, Nash gets 11 assists a game because the Suns never stop running. Whereas Kidd gets 9 a game when a lot of the Nets' plays involve isolating Vince Carter on the wing. That's a testament to Kidd's playmaking skills to be able to play adapt and play off the ball well.

If he's available, and if he's really interested in coming to Houston, the team definitely have to look hard into getting him.

my bad carroll dawson...i didnt realize you were clutchfans' resident expert (my apologies if you really are carroll dawson).

while i doubt theres any real chance kidd is coming to the rockets, its still fun for some to discuss the possibilities on this discussion board. perhaps you do agree with ehsan's view but you didnt have to insult the "4 pages...[of] people posting out of their behind"...you could easily have expressed your views without the condescension i think
