Up until DH12, basketball interest is maybe 1/10 that of football in Houston. DH and 55 win season may get it up to 1/3.

It's not gonna be a football show... will there be more football talk? Obviously. At least it'll be insightful. Ultimately it's still a morning show so they'll talk all kinds of pee-pee game topics. At least I'll be hearing about Breaking Bad instead of Sharknado.
Charlie loves to talk about the NBA. There's not much NBA stuff going on right now, however. He also talks about whatever the callers want to talk about. If there's not much Rockets talk during the season its usually due to nobody calling in about it.
i'll miss waking up to the big show. matt and adam always put houston first but lets not jump the gun and condemn 790 as 610 jr. LZ and clanton will make 790 #1 in the morning. plus if u got pallilo, im still tuning in.
LZ and Clanton are every bit about Houston as Matt and Adam. If anything LZ is more about Houston than anyone with his high school sports knowledge and Houston food show.
Kind of hard to do for basketball though. Unless it is like ESPN Dallas where they have a Saturday Mavs basketball show for one hour with Marc Stein (and some other station hosts) during the season. I don't think any market can really support a one hour only basketball show five days a week. Football is the only sport that can carry that. Football runs every sports radio market.

I rarely hear him talk about basketball, even when Dwight signed he was pushing astros talk. He talked a good hour straight about the astros yesterday and no one called in about it. I also hate caller driven shows which is a big reason I don't care for Charlie's style. That and his general irritated and whiny state make me glad lance is moving to a different time slot
The only thing people care about is football. You can see that with the huge ratings drop. However I think the people left are tired of all football all the time which explains why mike and mike became no 1 and the other guys dropped off.

Oh I know that, and I do like to hear about the texans. I'm just sayin Charlie talks too much about the astros which is the only houaton team I don't really care about.

He got b**** slapped by Clutch and high tailed it out of here. That old thread and his on air ranting about a post from some anonymous internet poster here about a certain ball player got him fired up and then sat the fawk down by the HNIC. His act is played out and tired and his ADHD and constant coughing fits drive me crazy. Used to eb a HUGE fan of him with Granato, but once they split they both dived imo.
