Assuming this is true, i don't think they "learned their lesson" with dragic and that's why they're giving Lin the player option. I dont think Morey wants to give either that kind of control. However, i think Les wants Lin to make money, so he advised Morey to give him the option to wrap things up, especially with a backloaded contract.

 

So does that mean we can waive Zoran from the summer league team now?

Anybody knows if the Suns' offer has the 4th year player option as well? If so, I can already imagine Maurray equipped with an IPAD6 and a 4th Gen Dynex knocking on Goran's door midnight 07/01/2015...

The only incentive to backload a deal is to pry away a RFA. The backloaded deal almost has a de facto player option because of the large salary number, so might as well throw it in. Since they most likely didn't backload Dragic's deal, the player option was seen as a bigger risk to the team.

 

Cannot wait to watch the dunks that will go down at Toyota Center after the 6+ turnovers a game Lin will give up on a regular basis.

I just hope we can repair the relationship between Kyle and Kevin, although I don't see it happening.

Let me fix that for you.

 

The player option is not the deal breaker, it is his heart. He packed everything right after the end of the last season even Morey said the team plans to bring him back. Plus, the offer from Houston is very similar to the Suns, there is no reason for Dragic not to sign here is he really want to.

 

Iam affraid that will happen. Loosing dragic was a very stupid move.

 

They haven't decided anything since the rockets offer....this just says the knicks had previously said they'd match offers made to Lin and the writer then states the knicks will likely match.

 

Kinda seems like Berman may have gotten his wires crossed. Seems like the 3 year deal with 4 year PO that he says was attributed to Lin was actually Dragic's.
