Absolutely! You are correct! Any inclusion of Head and Swift in any trade discussion is a waste of time! It is not going to happen and it shouldn`t happen. They are part of the future

Wesley, Howard, Anderson, Alston, Norris, maybe Baxter as a thrown in are the only players that are in that category...

Brown and Watson for any two or three of that group I would take. I do think it is another JVG bull-headed mistake to not use and develop Baxter more.

OK, maybe I blanked out on the way home, but I don't remember hearing most of what you said. I listened to the whole thing in my car and I heard him talk about what was good and bad about Artest, but I never heard him say he never contacted (or never will contact) Indy, nor did I hear one thing about conversation about Peja.

    EDIT
OK, nevermind, I'm an idiot. I noticed you were talking about 790. I heard him interviewed on 610.

I agree. The small amount I've seen Baxter play he looked good. He has a nose for the ball kind of like Sura and he has a decent offensive game. I can't believe JVG will not put him in a game. Will he play S. Graham or sit him next to Baxter on the bench?

CD you better be lying about not even trying to contact the Pacers

Artest on this team would be more beneficial than wesley, head and a 1st round pick.

I understand what people are saying about Head hell I talk about him at work almost daily. But the thing is he's still a rookie and he has potential

The difference between Artest and Head is just that....

Head has potential Artest is allready there. He's a proven guy on both ends of the floor. Play's the D almost better than anybody in the SF position and can make shots at 46% damn can you say that about Head?>

Maybe I should recap this as well.

Team is coming together, getting healthier and new guys are really starting to pick up JVG's schemes.

Injuries REALLY pushed them back (obviously) but he was dissapointed at the timing of them since they wanted to get off to a good start.

Said they played well enough to win most of the games TMac was out, but just didn't shoot the ball well (32%) and you can't beat anyone shooting poorly no matter how well you play.

West is not like it used to be where there were 3-4 teams you could beat up on resulting in 10-15 wins a season. NBA/West has a ton of parady, east is getting much better.

Knew Warriors would be good this season, mentioned how good the Clippers are as well, said Jazz (having injury problems like themselves) could be a team to reckon with.

Wasn't asked about their involvement in Artest trade but what impact his antics and past would result in his trade value. Talked about how great a talent he is but then mentioned some of his antics as well as his contradicting quotes recently ("I want more touches"-"I would play behind LeBron"). Said Indy is doing the smart thing by basically putting him out there for bids and letting a bidding war determine the selling price.

Derek Anderson is a game time decision but talked to JVG who said he likes what he sees so far in 1 practice from Graham and he might get some playing time tonight.

Rafer is getting better everyday. Ran straight with no pain a few days ago, ran cuts yesterday. Hopes to get him back in a week or so.

Swift is starting to find a comfort level and understanding of JVG's schemes on both ends of the court as before he was always looking over his shoulder to see if he was messing up. See he is getting more and more confident. His plus/minus has been outstanding for the last 2 weeks. Has so much talent but has to bring him along; but can bring so much in rebounding, shot blocking and speed. Good but quiet guy.

Well, there are 29 other teams in NBA. :D

And if you have read the article of "How can your team get Ron Artest?" by Chris Sheridan in ESPN Insider, there are 29 teams and 44 different speculative scenarios for getting Ron Artest.

So instead of believing in what Caroll Dawson said, you believe in those speculations of so-called "basketball experts" from NBA TV and ESPN Today ??

I think this part is key. CD isn't going to want to get into a bidding war, especially when we don't have that many assets outside of Yao and T-mac. Add that to the fact that Artest is an unstable personality, and it's probably not worth the risk to mortgage the future.

Very comforting knowing that CD has some sense.

Artest is not a smart guy... actually, he is the OPPOSITE of smart. He demands a trade, yet he isn't even able to verbalize what he wants in his career. If I were walking out on my job, I would d*mn sure know why I was doing it. Especially if I made a fraction of the money Artest does. Unlike other NBA headcases, I don't think a move is going to cure any of Artest's problems. His problems are not because of interactions with his teammates or coaches or anything like that which might be solved by a move to a different team. His problems are inside his head.

In other words...............McGrady didn't want to play with him. Van Gundy has made it clear he would take him in the past.

I'm glad to see that they are including TMac on the decisions. TMac is Mamma. If he ain't happy, we ain't happy.

I'm okay with not getting Artest. If they don't want him, then it ain't gonna work. Now, what deals are there to be made.

Any chance that we can get Antonio Daniels for Dwes????

here's another transcript from the interview today.

    790 host: asdf

Dawson: Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

790 host: Is it true you are trading for Artest?

Dawson: Umm, yes.... yes... it is.

790 host: A pleasure as always to have you on the show Mr. Dawson.

Dawson: Thanks my nig. Peace. CLUTCHCITY '06!

    790 host: K. bye.

Stephen A. proves once again that he is a moron. Tim legler asked him who he would take if it were the SuperSonics, he said Radmonovic and Potpetenkowhateverthehellhisnameis for artest. I would have atleast tried to get Rashard Lewis out of this deal. This is why hes no GM.

Then Tim Legler jokes that he would drive those two guys from Seattle tonight to Indiana to come pick up Artest tonight.

Also, another reason you know that Stephen A. is a basketball moron is because he would not say which trade he would do out of fear he would look stupid. I have noticed that he never says anything that has not been said by the other three guys alread. He just says it louder so you remember him saying it. ESPN has got to have put him there for entertainment purposes only.

He's like Little Penny come to life. He's always going to be loudest one in the room and if they let him none of the other guys would get a word in edge wise.

CD rings. Walsh checks the caller id, and immediately answers with, "We'll only do a straight up Yao for Ron trade". CD replies with "Sorry, wrong number", and hangs up.

Your sense of humor needs some work, in my opinion.
