So a groin injure makes Bonzi immune to every wrongdoing? Was Bonzi afraid that having root canals in off-season would get him injured without a contract as well? As I remember JVG played Bonzi despite he missed pre-season games, and Bonzi responded by playing like crap. And you think that's not enough for JVG to bench him and ask him get into shape first?
of course not. however, as recently as his playoff series against the spurs last year, he was ~25 pounds lighter.
The Rockets are 14-6 with 7 games in a row against the Western Conference, including 2 back to backs (with 3 of those 4 games on the road), and with 4 of those games against only 2 teams (and how often do you sweep a team in such short time periods). My point is, I guess I'm happy Bonzi is back. But let's not pretend he added a whole lot the few minutes he has played thus far this season, or that of the Rockets 6 losses, 5 of them didn't come against the Western Conference. The team is playing well. If Bonzi can add to the roster in a positive way, great...I just hope nobody is expecting the team to get all that much better or something.
His integration with the team will likely take a couple of weeks to work out the kinks, but eventually he really should make this team that much more potent on the offensive end.
it's VERY funny how you claim FREE BONZI in your signature... excuse me if he wants to host parties, bang every slut in downtown, and eat all the transfat he possibly could with his 2 million the Rox gave him... HE IS LUCKY if at all: i mean if he signed with Sacrament for 80 million or whatever, he would end up pretty fat. (how much junk food do you think he could buy with that much money )?
You obviously know nothing about root canals. I've had one so I know about them. They don't give any advance warning and just suddenly appear one day when your tooth starts hurting like hell. Then you need to get a root canal shortly after that. So him not needing them in the off season is very plausible.
JayZ750, thank you. in the games bonzi did play, he was absolutely ineffectual. bottom line is that if he isn't better than the players currently in the rotation (8-9 deep), he won't make much of a difference at all. in the fat shape he showed up in, he wasn't good enough. hitting the treadmill may have changed that, but i'm not convinced yet...
You act like players in the nba don't go out and party AFTER a game. Heck most nba players do. Steve "superbowl" francis was no different. It's what nba players do.
are you serious??? he played so little, he had no practice, no chemistry. you think that was bonzi's norm?? i think we should give him a little more credit. i would love to see somone slice in and drive it. he has that ability. a better version of kirk, i think...
atleast stevie put effort on the court. when was the last time bonzi practiced? he was acting like AI in his breakdown -"we talkin about practice man, practice...."
I had a root canal a couple of months ago. I was in the chair for less than 45 minutes and 15 of those were to give the novocaine time to act. These days, generally, a root canal is not difficult to treeat at all. Granted, they can come on suddenly (although if you have regular dental work, you can oftentimes see them coming), but the procedure itself is no big deal.
Yes, it's not a big deal once you have it done and I was fine the same day. That wasn't the question though. He assumed that he needed the root canals in the off season and waited to have them done, when it's very plausible that he didn't know he needed a root canal in the off season. Also let's not forget AI took a game off this year too cause of dental work.
I realize when you say effort on the court you mean practice and in the games, but luckily Bonzi is a very fierce competitor when his mind is right. Also, he has a mean streak to him which this team could use and hopefully he assumes that role for us. I am hoping he plays against Kobe and Kobe talks trash after burning him continually and then Bonzi puts him on the ground ala Raja Bell. We need Bonzi's personality to extent but let's hope he is well behaved and up for the challenge.
