They take Bynum and now they want to take an assistant gm? Screw them!

 

I'm fine with it. Will add Philly to Sacramento, Minnesota, and Boston as teams that are still willing and happy to trade with us without getting all pissy about it. Orlando, get your head out of your ass. Toronto, get your head out of your ass (no Lowry for Drummond at #8? Seriously? Ross would have been there at 12...). New York, LOL, we won't even start...

 

If the Rockets were trying to trade for either Howard or Bynum on draft night, the future (semi)guaranteed lottery pick holds more value currently in a trade after draft night happened. Since the trade wasn't going to happen that night, they were better off with the draft pick as opposed to penciling in one player that Orlando might not even like, or could have had a terrible Summer League debut. Drummond fell late in the lottery for a reason. The Rockets thought that this pick held a higher value to a team in a trade that would happen this summer.

The fact that Toronto was willing to go to great lengths to work with Morey on the lottery protection (in the Rockets favor) probably means that the relationship between Houstons front office and Toronto's is pretty cordial.

 

Lets trade Sam Hinkie for Andrew Byum

 

Big loss for Morey if Hinkie leaves.
