Boeing had already agreed to a $2.5B settlement with the government for civil penalties plus had to reach settlements with the families. The only reason for this prosecution is $2.5B wasn't enough to change their behavior.

Boeing in Talks to Preserve US Government Contracts Business

The admitted felon is discussing a potential path forward with the US Defense Department to preserve its government contract business after the company agreed to plead guilty
to a criminal charge tied to two fatal crashes of its 737 Max jet, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

A Pentagon spokesperson separately said on Monday that the department will assess the plea agreement and related matters to “make a determination as to
what steps are necessary and appropriate to protect the federal government.”

That doesn't apply to the 1% or the political elite anymore.

It's like Monopoly where you pay to get out of jail.

This is just not a good thing

    Despite these monumental screw-ups,

Trump 2.o has awarded Boeing a major Pentagon contract for a next-generation fighter jet,
with a contract value in excess of $20 billion

what a public display of favortism, an inept POTUS awarding an inept corporation

I saw a blurb somewhere that some of these might not need pilots in the cockpit.
Pilots may not be able to handle the incredible
g force generated by a plane this fast and crazy turning ability.

    With that being said.
I'm no fan of Boeing. But I don't pick the manufacturer

Exactly. We're seeing modern warfare in Ukraine right now, and it's cheap drone swarms.

Just for the cost of the drones
    163 drones. . . .for 20 billion
That is like a nice swarm of drones to do some massive damage

We're talking apples and oranges here. I'm talking about the cheap off the shelf drones that you can strap a boom boom to.
