It was a racist remark that I didn't want to touch so I ignored it. I advise you to do the same or this is going straight into the D&D.

But the question is, if she's prostituting herself, does the idea that she really believed that having the guys pay to 'touch' her little sister was wrong? Is it possible that it was not beyond the realm of her "that's okay" column of acceptable behavior?

Obviously there's more going on here that we don't know about. Maybe she's just a vindictive wench. Who knows.. I'm not saying it was okay for her to do, I'm saying that there is definitely some problems going on with that 15 year old.

And I'm not watching a Chapelle video at work.. it will have to wait.

At 15, I believe you are old enough to know. I'm not saying that your going to be as smart as your going to be at 15, but you have to know that doing that to your sister is wrong. And if she's vindictive, then lock her up. Either way she should be held responsible for her actions in the crime.

This is a sad story & some of the responses in this thread are equally sad and disgusting. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

There is nothing funny about this.

Emotionally-charged issues and the general clown**** attitude of the Hangout don't mix.

This is why we have another forum.

I agree, but from the outside looking in it seems she needs help more than anything else. If the details of this story don't scream a child crying out for help then I have no idea what to say.

She may very well have been abused and needs help. But that doesn't mean she shouldn't face the strictest of punishment.

I cannot believe that any trauma absorbed by the 15 year old absolves her from being able to recognize the horrendous nature and utter cruelty of her actions to her seven year old sister. Ignorance of the law isn't an excuse. Being a monster is not an excuse either.

In my world, all of these sick kids would be executed. You forfeit any claim to sympathy or mercy when you act upon that anger against innocents.

I'm not saying she shouldn't face punishment.. I'm saying that it sounds like she has the sort of background that anything that they do to punish her is likely not as bad as what she's already been through. I also think the boys, 13 and 14, deserve some kind punishment as well... but they also need to be removed from the environment they are in where this is acceptable behavior.

And to the poster above me.. obviously you live in a bubble and haven't ever been abused in any way. I don't agree with what she did, but I also think it sounds like things got out of control and she didn't know how to stop it.

Think about this.. her sister was afraid for her in the first place.. so they both knew the situation was a bad one before they ever got there... yet they still went.

Bad things happen every day, people need to realize that just punishing them with jail time and corporal punishment doesn't fix the problem... it just makes it worse. They need help.

Spend time working with kids who live in these sort of situations or environments and you see all kinds of differences in acceptable behavior. It will absolutely open your eyes to a whole other world that you can't imagine.

After initial reaction of kill them all, I agree with your statement. Only for the girl though. My thoughts on the men still are unchanged and hope they either receive life or the death penalty.

What an awful story. It's shocking the despicable things humans are capable of doing to each other. The ones who are old enough to be charged as adults should rot in jail. As for the older sister, I'm on the fence. While I agree with Hayesfan that it's obvious that she's probably experienced things far worse than any punishment that can be given to her, it feels wrong to not throw her in jail and throw away the key. At the end, I suspect they'll give her some sort of combination of jail-time and rehab, which I'm ok with. The younger rapists will probably also get the same.....I also think it depends on the extent in which they participated. While they are all guilty, if some of the men involved didn't necessarily participate in the heinous acts, I'm sure they'll get some sort of plea that won't keep them in jail for 20+ years. All in all, I think society as a whole loses when things like this happen.

I agree with you in the sense that punishment will not solve the problem in the society as a whole. All kids need good role models and its obvious that the older sister does not have any.

Regardless, what's done is done and everybody in that situation should face the strictest penalties.

This is just truly disturbing to read. To the people defending the 15 y/o girl for her actions because of possible traumatic experiences in her past or just poor foundation from her parents, I am sure many of the murders and rapists in jail have had issues, pasts and wrong done to them or screwed up child hoods, its still not excusable to go lenient. Fact is she is 15 years old, thats still young, but you can comprehend your actions at 15 easily, she is only 3 years from being a legal adult.

As for the people saying death penalty, I think this deserves the harshest penalty possible, and from what I have read to many people who are in life without parole or any hope where they rot in there without any hope or possibility that maybe there might be something positive in their life coming soon is far worse and more miserable for them especially in jail that targets child molesters, than the death penalty which as disturbing as it is still puts them out of misery much faster where as being stuck in a jail cell with people trying to rape you everyday and no hope of ever getting out makes you relive and think of it and in some ways even torture everyday, like a slow painful death. I am against the death penalty because I think for the worst crimes its too light, i think life in prison without any hope of parole is far worse
