another sin is NOT PLAYING WAFER?! his confidence is going to go down sooner or later, and were not going to have him on the roster next year when he chooses another team

I guess I dont understand how its one player's fault that a team gave up well over 100 points.

Some people don't understand that "The Rockets" are sucking it up..
    Not just 1 player.

Don't get me wrong, McGrady is trash this year, but Adelman's coaching philosophy sucks

    1) Refuses to call a timeout until we're down by 16.
    2) Brings the starters back in regardless of how well the bench is playing.
    3) Has no knowledge of the word "defense".
    4) Doesn't display any sense of emotion whatsoever.
    5) Never has an answer to anything.
    6) Can't control his so-called superstars.
    7) Doesn't play Deke, Chuck, or Brent.

I agree that so much of what's wrong is on Adelman. Here's another theory to add to it, though I don't know how valid it is.

This team lacks fire and energy, and I certainly don't see it coming from the coach (or our team's "leader"). He's also supposedly a "player's coach" and is extremely lax. There is very little discipline in the way we play, and that also might go right back to the coach.

On every one of these championship-caliber teams, there is an intense force that keeps everyone in line and motivated towards their goal. The Lakers have Phil Jackson and Kobe. The Celtics have boatloads of Garnett to make up for Doc Rivers being a ridiculously nice guy. The Cavs have LeBron James (and Ben Wallace?). The Magic have a Van Gundy. The Spurs have Popovich. The Rockets have...yeah, nothing.

This team is talented and smart and full of character, but I ask you, where is the fire and the discipline coming from? Without those, we're not going to get squat done. Is Rick Adelman doing a thing to find it? I don't think so.

Not only that, Mutombo is QUICKER than Yao and has better interior defense. He played Boozer real well in the playoffs and a lot better than Yao has in the past. Adelman has run out of excuses.

deke isn't the answer to most of our problems. he's old after all. probably won't make much difference. see his 3 missed layups in 3 minutes.

and i wonder why so many whine we play 4-on-5 on offense when we start hayes or even battier, but not when we play deke.
