I am tired of watching Francis & Mobley trying to take on 5 players by themselves. Its time to move on to 5 on 5!!! These last few weeks have been filed with selfish play, and no matter how GOD LIKE they can be, at times, we will never return to those championship days without team play!!!

I really want Odom (or somebody) to come in and take over the offense. This does not mean PPG, this means creating the flow of the offense for Francis & Mobley. We have the talent to dominate, but the only creative play making we run are ISO's. No wonder are offense is so easy to read by the opposing teams.

Then if it works at all to improve your assets, why does it "boggle the mind"? You're really overreacting.

I've already responded as well as I can to this and you ignored it, so I won't waste my time this go-around.

The chemistry of the team got messed up this year. And all things will have to be reset next year with all our new pieces coming back.

Mo, Rice, Mobley, Griffin and Francis know what is going on.
Lets get the high pick and move some of the scrubs and lets get for real.

Tank with the scrubs.

As long as the game are close within the last 5 mins, I see it as a win. After that they can tank like they did last night.

They just let Mcgrady make those shots. I love how Moochie was guarding TMac.

Same thing happen with the Seattle win last week, but seattle sucked because Rockets gave it to them to win but seattle really screwed that up. I was pissed we won that game. Seattle had a million opportunities to win and messed it up. Seattle really does suck. They need to rebuild.

I agree. Personally Im getting sick of all the losing. This team is a whole lot better than what they are showing on the floor. Right now, they are obviously just throwing in the towel but I would like to see them win some games. I dont think that's too much to ask considering how much these guys are paid. As long as they show some heart and pride out there, that's fine. But, gees, it seems like they've already put down an L before the game even starts!

yeah i agree. i cant even do it. i even wanted denver to lose some games and i couldnt root against them. the only thing i could do is not watch and see the result at the end. if they lose, fine. if they win, great.

i just cant root against denver.

This whole tanking argument is temporary. Just look at who turns it on in the stretch. Not the Indianas, Clippers etc. It is teams like Toronto, even without Carter. Even Miami made a run. The key is veterans.

Fortunately in a couple of years we will have a veteran team whether we get lottery picks or not.

Freak, were you really terribly disapointed when the Rockets lost last night? Come on be honest.

I enjoyed the game and the outcome was fine with me. I just don't like lazy blowouts by the Rockets.

Freak....why not answer the flip side of that question...

How many teams who won 30 games and DIDNT get a top 5 pick made the playoffs the following year...or the year after that???

The point is that the draft and the draft lottery are put in place to assist in evening out the playing field. The other ways that the league evens out the playing field is the salary cap and also the 3 YEAR MINIMUM PLUS AN OPTION YEAR rule for rookies. This rule was put in place solely to prevent these (as you call them) irrelevant picks from flocking to the better teams after one or 2 years. If the NBA and the owners thought that these players were so irrelevant then the rule would never have been implemented.

If you think that the Rockets, had they won last night's "thriller", would have taken that victory into next year and learned something from it, I disagree. The only thing they should have learned is that they need to improve their team. Since we don't have the cap space to sign a free agent stud (not that there are any available), the only avenue we can use is the draft.

Bottom line, the draft will help us. Will it win us another title? I cant answer that yet. But i'll tell you what...give me a chance to watch my team in the playoffs every year and Ill take it. Malone, Barkley, Carter, etc (all of the irrelevant picks you referred to) may not have any rings to show for their efforts but they give their fans something to root for every May.

I disagree. Our future success depends more on Francis and Mobley getting better than it does on guys that may not even make the roster next year. The primary goal should be to improve our best players (mainly Francis). They need to be able to take over and WIN games. If they can't do that consistently, draft picks don't matter. Every game is a chance for Francis (and Mobley) to get better. I have no problem with them clocking more than 40 minutes a game at this point -- in fact, that's what should be happening. Why do they have to wait until next year to improve? Morris, Torres, Langhi, and/or Collier are never going to win us a championship -- those players are replaceable in any given year.

To me tanking implies celebrating a loss.

Who's turning anything down? I don't want the Rockets to refuse their draft pick. I don't get what you mean by 'turning down'. So if the Rockets win, they're turning down the chance to improve?

There's a difference between realizing your team is overmatched and wanting them to lose. My stance is that I want them to win, and a couple of draft slots doesn't make much difference long-term.
