I saw an interesting stats put up by GSW announcers in the Rockets game there. GSW has won something like 85% of their game when it was decided by 5 points or less for the past two seasons. I thought that was pretty amazing. Immediately jump out that these guys know how to win close games. Should revisit this stats for the Rockets midway through the season and after the season.
Sorry if someone noted this already......11/16 @ OKC the refs blew some calls in the final 2 mins. http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/11/18...ockets/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Another one in the win column. We can make shots. When other teams stagnate down the stretch we have not been
It's never a bad thing to win a high percentage of close games. It's probably a bad thing if a high percentage of your games are close games.
False, it means our team is mentally tough which is much better than "consistenly blowing out teams" because that leads to complacency, overconfidence, and a lack of experience in late game scenarios throughout the season before the playoffs.
That is not true either. Consistently blowing out teams is always a good thing. Blowing the opponent out is harder than winning a close game. Only good teams can consistently blowing teams out. On the flip side, consistently being blown out is a sure sign of a bad team.
The only team that has consistently "blown out teams" in the last decade lost in the finals vs. a very good, tough cavs team and also struggled late in the playoffs. Historically, you're statement is false bc the warriors were unable to take it all the way and struggled after the 2nd round of the playoffs, where the games were much closer than what they had to face in the regular season. It's good to test teams in the regular season late in the game, so it helps establish that fortitude and mental toughness to take games late.
Rockets choked. Spurs were clutch. No luck involved. Having said that...Rockets are on their level. That is clear.
