And hence a top 10 player in the league.

I'm just pointing out to those who say 'Brooks is too short' --> height isn't really the issue...

And Brooks' weakness isn't his shooting either.

Who knows if he'll ever be a starter in the NBA - but he's showing that he at least WANTS to make it isn't he?

Yeah,I know it's Summer League but you have to play some defense. They are Rockets all right, hoping for last minute wins.

Paul also has two years starting on Aaron Brooks, he was a high pick and was greenlighted from day one.....money can't buy that kind've experience. So obviously it's going to take alot longer before people know what kind've finished product Aaron Brooks is.

Bye bye Summer League. See ya next July.

He definitely wants to get better, but shooting is also one of his weaknesses. I did like the way he played tonight, his passing was better.

For as much as people are praising Leunen in this thread, Donte Greene quietly had a great game.

He stopped chucking threes, (only 3 attempts from distance which is a HUGE improvement) and had a very efficient 9 of 16 shooting night with 3 stls and a blk thrown in. He still needs to work on his rebounding though...he should be much better in that area.

How is shooting a weakness of his?

You're aware that after the all-star break, Brooks was over 40% from 3pt land the rest of the season.

You're (of course) also aware that he was noted as a 3pt shooter in his college days?

He's never going to shoot like Steve Novak, but that's hardly the criteria...

Look at his shooting closely in the Summer League, that will give you a better idea. He also missed a number of open shots in the last game against the Jazz. I'm not expecting him to be a Steve Novak either.Brooks can shoot but he needs to get better. It's harder to shoot the 3 in the pros.

Marty and Steve should have a 3 point shooting contest, and whoever wins, gets a roster spot, whoever loses, disappears.

    Agreed.

Greene has the kind of game to be an NBA all-star one day or close to it. I've seen players come into this league that became all-stars, and they weren't nearly as skilled and gifted as Greene. The only knock on his game is his defense, rebounding, and chuckin' tendacies...but I see players even good ones who have problem with one or more those three qualities.

Greene is one that should definitely be on the opening day roster.

I'm surprised how did he get 7.2 rebounds at college,he just doesn't seem to care about rebounding.

Yeah. Greene looked good tonight. As did Brooks. The only reason I am focusing my attention on Leunen as opposed to those guys is A.) they are assured a roster spot and B.) I think it's really impressive how Leunen has been so consistent. Every single game he has been solid and efficient. That's what has me so impressed with him. He kind of reminds me of Shane Battier. There isn't any aspect of his game that wows you, but he plays hard and plays smart - keeps the mistakes to the bare minimum.

Now if he could just play defense like Battier....

A certain Mr.McGrady comes to my mind. I don't hate Tracy but I wish he would drive more often to the basket and make his FT's regularly and refrain from chucking his shots.
